If you're familiar at all with Half-Life 2, then you're familiar with Steam, Valve's "content delivery service". Steam is an interesting concept, combining server browser, game front-end menus, patch distribution, online account security and buddy lists in one compact, sleek and--currently--bug-ridden package. Well, after a lengthy beta period, Steam has now been officially released, and it hasn't been a great start. Crashes, long load times and other various bugs have lead many to speculate that Steam is the reason for the recently announced Half-Life 2 delay. That's not hard to believe, since Steam will be integrated heavily into Half-Life 2. The Steam debacle sparked the idea for today's comic. Actually, that's a lie. What really led to today's comic was my love of corny jokes and the timeless "rim shot". But a "groaner" punchline and a drum set do not a comic make; so the Steam issue made a good subject.
