This gametype is a modified Last Man Standing with the following differences:
- There is an added option in Elimination that allows you to
make it so that the players do not start with all weapons
and instead start with a default loadout and pick up other
weapons from the map.
- Updated HUD that shows your remaining lives as the most
prominent statistic and also shows your rank and spread
according to lives left. The HUD also shows the current top
3 players in the game so you can easily tell whom you
should be picking on .
- Updated scoreboard that keeps players sorted in the order
that they were eliminated rather than ranking eliminated
players by kills.
- There are informational text messages displayed that tell
you when a player is eliminated, and there is a warning
message displayed when you are down to your last life.
- Improved observer mode HUD that gives you a lot more
information than the LMS HUD.
2) Team Elimination
This is a team version of Elimination where each player gets X
number of lives, as specified in the rules. The team that runs
out of lives first loses. The team scores on the HUD show total
lives remaining per team. The scoreboard is sorted in order of
lives remaining.
3) Elimination Tournament Edition
This a round based version of Elimination. In each round,
players have a certain number of lives (as specified in the
rules). When there is only one player left, the round ends. At
the end of each round, scores are evaluated and compared to
the score limit. If there is a winner then the game is over.
Otherwise, a new round begins. The game will also end if
there has been a time limit specified and it expires.
Players score points in the following ways:
10 points for a 1st place finish in a round
6 points for a 2nd place finish in a round
3 points for a 3rd place finish in a round
1 point for a kill
-1 point for a suicide
Any ideas, suggestions, etc are welcome and should be posted here...
Each player is randomly assigned a target and they can only do damage to that target. Once the assigned target is eliminated, a new target is assigned, and so on until only one player is left. Options could include:
Whether or not the name of the hunter that's after them displays on the target's HUD.
A radar to help find your target and/or evade your hunter.
The option to make everyone able to injure everyone else, but get a higher score for killing their targets (making the game play more like a DM than LMS).
Ok First let me say I love the MOD. However there is one issue I have found, or maybe I am not doing something right. I rent a server, and I have noticed with the MOD's that want installs to:C:\Users\[user]\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Published\CookedPC
C:\Users\[user]\Documents\My Games\Unreal Tournament 3\UTGame\Config
do not work because there is no such directory on the rented server. However the ones that install directly into the UT3 folder itself work fine. I Loved LMS on '99 and would love to get this one working on my current server. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
It almost looks like he's trying to unzip it to a C:\Program Files\UT3\ folder (for example), and the file security in Vista is dumping it into a fake Program Files folder under his user directory. Although why a rental server would be running Vista, I don't know.
I'm just wondering if there is somewhere that I can get this mod from - this seems to be the only last man standing mod that I can find for UT3, and all the links to the download page lead to just a blank page. Any help with this would be appreciated :)
I completely forgot to add back the Downloads section when I rebuilt the Martian Cartel page. Looking over the files on the site it appears the most recent version of Elimination III that Q had was still listed as alpha. I'll check to see if he had anything else more current than that.
In the meantime the alpha can be grabbed via this link.
