Let me tell you about Granite Armor

On protector I have a brute who recently hit 38 (39 now). He is a stone brute who has the ability called GRANITE ARMOR. When granite armor is on my damage is lowered, I move slower, and I cannot jump or fly. "Wow, what a crappy armor!" You say. Ah ha! But I am also a God! I enjoy herding up the aggro limit of +2s, watching my fury bar go to full in 3 seconds, and then beating up the bad guys with my fists of darkness (dark melee). When I am teamed up with a kinetics corruptor then I become an invincible god and run rooted too.

Basically, if you want to tank, stone brutes are the way to go. Maybe some of you had stone tankers, I don't know -- but I do know that having a full furry bar and hitting with an 11.7 Brawl Index cone is a lot of fun.

This is true. Stone tankers in CoH are viewed as being nearly unkillable in most PvE situations and yes, their eyes do light up in delight when a kinetics defender or controller shows up. I loves me little 32 kin/rad defender but he seems to always get on really sucky PuGs, way more than any other character. I think a lot of teams start popping dumb pills when a "healer" arrives.
