Alright, I may be the last person on earth who has not played WoW. Most of my household plays it, and it seems most of you guys do too.
So the question is; if I start this now, is it going to be possible to play with you guys? Or am I going to have to level grind my ass off for the next 2 weeks to get to that place?

two weeks? :)
It'll probably take closer to 2 or three months to catch up, depending on how often you play.
There are a few guys that started new horde characters, and several of us have low level alliance on Arthas.
The game stands well on its own, though, and you'll find plenty of people to level up with.

I know Q and my wife have mid-teen rogues, which is about 12 hours of playing. I have several low characters, but you would have some bare spots in leveling with us.
That said, the game is great even solo.

The game is pretty decent solo. You can call for help from the general populace and usually get a pretty good responce depending on where you are.
I have a high 20's on Aggrammar, but I'm probebly not on often enough to help :(
I'd be willing to start a new one somewhere else.

Yes, some on, join the Martian Cartel on Arthas! I have a lvl 16 mage who could wait for you to catch up, and i got stuck with my lvl 27 druid. Don't think I will ever get her higher up without some fun company to make worthwhile the effort. There is also a great benefit in having so many guildies with higher level chars around: if you ever need somebody to help you run an instance, kick horde ass when they bother you, or help you - period, you just need to call. We all enjoy one-shotting lowbie mobs. :bg:
I think it has been working pretty well with our mix of highbie-lowbie crowd in the guild. And until you hit 30 or so, leveling up is really fast and easy.
