Raids in the expansion will only be 10 & 25 man-sized. PVP changes from the latter system to a "earn the points, spend the points" system. Arena fighting introduced.

Chilton's mentions of "points" may confuse current WoW PvPers who are accustomed to the awkward ladder system the PvP grind entails. That system of gaining honor and ranking up is over with in Burning Crusade: "The Honor System in the expansion will no longer be a competitive ladder. The Honor System will be a system where you gain honor points a lot like you do today, but you then just use those honor points as a currency, effectively. That will include items that were previously earned through reputation. We'll kind of roll those into the Honor System, and it will also include a whole lot of new equipment for level 60 to 70 and beyond," Chilton says.

The arena team sounds like a must do for the Martians also. And world PvP and stuff. It sounds like it will really be fun to patrol the realm for bad hordes.

I am sure Q will be giddy with happiness that the raid sizes will be so much more reasonable. I for one am psyched to hear that, as we can easily do 10, and can probably get most of a 25 group out of the guild and known friends :)


Something I was wondering, are most of you intending to get your (multiple?) mains to 70 right off the bat, or are you going to be rolling alts with the new races? or both?

Excuse my ignorace, but when does the expansion come out? Do I have a chance getting to 60 from my current 43 before it does? Knowing me, I'll get to 60 the day before it comes out, and then have to start working towards 70... :\

No ignorance involved. There hasn't been a release date given. They have said "Soon" and "Before Christmas", so I suspect we'll be hearing more in the next 3 weeks or so.

I'd imagine the beta will need to start pretty soon if they plan to meet a "before Christmas" deadline, but I honestly expect it sooner rather than later.

In other words, unless you begin to burn the midnight oil, I don't think you'll hit 60 before the expansion.

Blizzard has a bit of a history of taking roughly forever and a half to get their games out. So don't set aside money for the expansion just yet.

I forget where I read it, but the XP requirements for 61-70 are HIGH. Blizzard expects it to take longer to go from 60-70 than it did from 1-60. I'll almost certainly roll a shaman as well, since I've only played a horde one to about level 10, but I think my focus will be on getting Pokeypokey to 70, then Kurage.

I like the sound of all of this. I don't think I'll start a new character right off the bat. I know I'll want to play a Shaman at some point, but I'd rather get Kurathis to 70 and avoid the initial Shaman-rush.

Plus I'll be able to collect high end Shaman gear. :D

Hopefully I'll get some playtime in this week. I miss grouping with you guys. We gotta get our gear sorted out.

I think you *can* make 60 before the expansion Ava, 50 to 60 actually goes extremely fast. Just make a concerted push :)

I am definately looking forward to the expected high prices that Shaman gear will start going for during the inital rush. I must make money!! :)
