Is anyone going to sign up for this? I was going but I don't want to be the only one.

You must Postal, and then report to us on how it went. It is too early on the west coast for me to make it, I won't be done at church yet. :(

Looks like JR and I signed up. I'll let you know how it goes.

So how was it? Which bosses did you kill? Was the group well organized? How was the communication over teamspeak (or whatever they are using)?

Well it didn't go that great. We were a few short when we started so we had to take pickups. A lot of them bailed along the way but JR was able join because of that. We had 3 wipes and didn't make the 1st boss. We did get 2 purple drops. One for a mage and one for a pal. A lot of us had never gone and I think we learned a lot so it isn't that bad. I got a green bow that Kegor will be able to use at 60.

I think they are going to either try again Monday or next Sunday.

If there were really a lot of people who had not done MC before, then I think you did not do bad at all. The one time I went (with the Gods and a few pickups like myself), most people had done MC many times, and we managed to kill Lucifron - but only after about 6 wipes (2 of them on earlier mobs). When we finally killed him, it went fast and looked almost like a cake walk. My conclusion from that was that everybody needs to know exactly what to do and do it exactly right, or it does not work. The margin for error is just extremely slim.

It seemed to me that the pallies were much of the key to surviving. If they do not immediately remove the curse Luci casts on people, they die faster than any healer can possibly keep them alive. But to be honest: I think I did a piss poor job at that run anyway because I kept getting myself killed within the first minute of every fight. I was never there to heal my party. It may have been that that curse killed me, but I am sure I also did something wrong myself that I got killed so fast every time. I succeeded in surviving the final battle against Luci only because he MC'ed me. So I wandered around attacking people with mindblast for the first half of the battle at the benfit of not being attacked by Luci. My team mates silenced me, but of course they did not do me much other harm. When MC broke, I was thus still at full health, and also mostly full on mana. (The bit I was missing could be easily restored by popping a mana pot.) My party did not look so good at that point, but at least I was this time there to heal them. Three party heals in a row restored them well enough to see the battle through.

We then went back to IF, repaired gear, and returned to MC to try Magmadar. I think, the best we did was get him down to 50% health. We gave up after 4 wipes. I am not sure I got any money out of this MC visit. I definitely did not get any drops. What I got was a repair bill of over 3 g (immense for a cloth wearer), and the interesting experience of getting 40 people to act as a focused team. I certainly do not regret having done this run, and I could imagine it to be fun learning how to kill the MC bosses with a group we like and trust even if it will be very frustrating in the beginning. Maybe we can practice some in Zul'Gurub when it's out?
