"Knife of Dreams" comes out on October 11, for anyone who may care. Jordon's apparently shortening the series to 12 books (from 13), so this is the second to last one.

From the Publisher...

In KNIFE OF DREAMS, the dead are walking, men are dying impossible deaths, and it seems as though reality itself has become unstable: all are signs of the imminence of the Last Battle, when Rand al’Thor, the Dragon Reborn, must confront the Dark One as humanity’s only hope. But Rand dares not fight until he possesses all the surviving seals on the Dark One’s prison. And he faces other dangers—there are those among the Forsaken who will go to any length to see him dead . . . The winds of time have become a storm, and things that everyone believed were fixed in place forever are changing before their eyes. Now Rand must ride those storm winds, or the Dark One will triumph.

The Wheel of Time turns and ages come and pass. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow. Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time. Now, with KNIFE OF DREAMS, the story continues . . .

i stopped reading them after like 4 books.

the first ones are amazing, i've heard though that the rest of the series goes downhill.

Same, I made it to about #6, and then just got tired of the never ending rambling/recapping the previous 4 books.

Perrin and Matt rock though :)

I absolutely loved the first 4 books, then stalled out on reading them and decided to wait for the series to be finished before reading them all.

So while I haven't read the more recent books, I have not heard good things about them. A friend of mine read book 10 and said that you could have skipped the entire book and not missed anything in the main plotline :(.

I made it up to 9, purchased 10 and decided I didn't care anymore.
