With several of us playing right now, the Martian Cartel on Pinnacle will be able to save enough prestige to buy fancy things or something. As with the toilet quest for Champions of Mastery on Triumph, the costs are the same.
Goal to get something in the base (teleporters, etc.): 810,000 prestige
June 11: 494,728
June 14: 538,825
June 20: 685,529
June 24: 720,000
June 27: 800,159
We can earn the base supercomputer by lackeying others. The supercomputer unlocks an SG task force in the 25-30 range.
You also unlock something (I dunno what) by battling the Circle of Thorns. I think you need to defeat 10 million of them.
I've got the teleport beacons for Mercy Island and Port Oakes and will probably get the one for Cap Au Diable soon. You get the beacons by hitting all the exploration badges in a zone while in SG mode.
Why don't we have a base now? Am I just being a poohead? Surprisingly, no! As soon as a base is created, you get charged base upkeep (rent). The rent takes into account how much prestige you have, even if your base is a single room with nothing but old Playboys stuffed under a stained and odd-smelling mattress. Basically, you end up just throwing away prestige on rent. Once we have enough prestige, we can get a functioning base and then happily pay the outrageous upkeep costs.
