Just a quick li'l update on Smackdowns over the next few weeks.
This Sunday (April 30) we will be doing UT2004. Announcement will go up tomorrow (Thursday). I'll try to actually have the map named at the same time. :)
Next Sunday (May 7) we will be attempting our Tribes 1 Smackdown. An announcement on map, gametype, etc. will be posted as soon as details are worked out. Know in advance that you will need to be updated to the 1.11 patch to play.
I want to do more HL2DM but it has been tricky organizing tests. Tentatively, I'd like to run it after the T1 Smackdown, so perhaps we can give it a test before then.
Carry on.

I downloaded and played a bit of T1 last night. It's going to take a bit of getting used to after so many years. :)
Myself and Jolissa/Avalon616 should be up for the T1 smackdown...not that we'll do any good. It's been a loooong time since I've brandished a spinfusor.
I find it wonderfully amusing that the suggestion of a T1 smackdown is going to draw double the usual number of participants. It's going to rock :)

Nostalgia is a potent drug.

Too true! Remember the 70's? Sat Night Fever? *ghaaaa*
So has anyone been able to locate Q-HUD? I cannot :(.

I dl'd Tribes, and spent about 5 hours on it last night. Wow, did that bring back a flood of memories.
I'm totally cranked to play my first smackdown since God-Knows-When. I believe the last one was Tribes, come to think of it.....

I am also considering doing another Halo PC Smackdown. Granted, we only got four people last time, but the game is now dirt cheap and the few of us who did show had a pretty good time with the Race gametype.
Plus the game actually runs smoothly now.

Part of me is interested in doing smackdown, but seeing as I've never really played Tribes before, only watched friends play, I'm rather nervous. See, I like winning. And the likelihood of winning when playing against videogame veterans, albeit possibly rusty, is approximately nil.
Also, while you all are playing Tribes, maybe I can try and level up in WoW so I'm a closer lvl to your alts.

Avalon, I can guarantee that if I play, you won't come in dead last. Plus you'd have a nice easy target to shoot at.
You see, my religion prevents me from using jetpacks.
What JR's really trying to say is that he can't get it up.
Re: Halo - if there's interest, I'll look into picking up a copy and joining in. The MP I played wasn't too bad.

Ditto.
Of course, by next week we should have a reasonable number of people with GR:AW for some domination mode.
