What the heck, this dump could use a new thread. Here I will keep track of the prestige total of Champions of Mastery, the ultimate goal of which is approximately 725,000 prestige to get something fancier than jars of organs and Jacobs Ladders into the supergroup base. Updates will be "when it feels right".
Goal: 725,000
New Goal: 750,000-806,000
Even Newer Goal: 901,000
April 4: 433,992
April 9: 478,130
April 12: 501,202 - we pass the 500,000 mark. That toilet is so close I can taste it!
April 21: 574,200
April 27: 601,604 - we pass the 600,000 mark. That toilet bowl is half-full!
May 5: 674,401
May 8: 700,227 - we pass the 700,000 mark. It's almost ready to flush.
May 12: 729,480 - initial goal achieved!
May 14: 753,069 - first part of new goal achieved!
May 20: 806,378 - second part of new goal achieved!
May 25: base upgraded with control, power and teleporter with two beacons (The Hollows, Boomtown)
June 2: 112,470

A momentous occasion tonight as Champions of Mastery earn their first SG badge, By mentoring others, we have unlocked the SG Base Computer. The base computer allows you to take SG-specific missions and task forces.
I don't know if any actually exist in CoH yet (the Cathedral of Pain is coming in Issue 7 but that requires about 20-24 people, making it somewhat impossible) but there may be others. Regardless, it's ours, all ours!
Carry on.

What server is Champions on?

We are on Triumph.
The funny thing is Circuit started the group as a bit of a lark (I came up with the name even before CoH, I think) when the Quirky Bastards Justice Division folded up in October 2004. We somehow never got around to making a "real" SG and now with prestige sticking to the group and not the person, CoM is getting its fancy toilets, dammit!

It's the best meaningless name the world has ever known!

I have a few creations on Triumph, other than the martian, so if I ever reup I will look up the Champions and gain you some prestige as well.

We've now earned the Repulsor Base Defense badge:
"Your group has erased 1,000,000 in debt. Such determination has earned you the Repulsor."
It's hard to believe we did this without pogo's help, although I'm thinking the badge may have tracked all members of the SG, both past and present.

Well, I think Foe made up for a lot of that.

True. We had 39 levels of Francine "suicide bomber" Frost playing with us.

I think I was my own personal genocide. At least dying was fun in CoH!

Success!
We now have 729,480 prestige. Unfortunately, Circuit used Crazy Math and added things up in a way scientists refer to as "wrong". Thus, we still need a little more:
Workshop - 22,000 more needed
Transporter plus one beacon - 78,000 more needed
New goal for reals (maybe):
750,000-806,000
Onward! Excelsior!
Nicely done!! I still have to install the client on the uber machine. =/

I'm starting to get antsy for enhancement storage bins now (coming in Issue 7) because Johnny has collected about 10 so far that are too high level to use. We should have enough saved to get one of those bins by the time Issue 7 hits, I think. I'm currently transferring enhancements from Johnny to one of Circuit's characters then to one of my alts I don't play anymore, like Lemon Law. All in all, a tad awkward.
Current costs from a player who has checked out bases on the test server (may or may not be accurate now):
Small Workshop [100k]
Salvage Bin [15k]
Inspiration Bin [75k] (no power or control needed)
Enhancement Bin [95k] (no power or control needed)
Tech Empowerment Station [15k]
Arcane Empowerment Station [15k]

CoM now has over five SG badges and has earned the ability to make the Mega Monitor, whatever that is. Yay! I think.

CoM has unlocked the plans for the Emergency Capacitor. This will be handy when our capacitors are suffering some sort of emergency, perhaps.
We are now a little under 4,000 prestige from our new goal of 806,000. In lieu of storage bins, I have a couple of seldom-played lowbies holding a bunch of level 53 SOs. :P
I'm getting the itch to play CoH again but damn...I have to work up from level 0!
What's the current level cap?
If I make a character, what's a good combination nowadays?
Creole Ned

The level cap is 50 for heroes and will be 50 for villains when Issue 7 goes live (probably in a few weeks). The devs are working on more endgame stuff but it sounds like 50 will be the cap for some time. My hunch is they will never raise it.
As for what character to play, whatever floats yer boat. Best balanced for solo play would be a scrapper (tankers are good, too, but are a bit slow to start). Like living on the edge? Blaster. Team player? Defender or controller.
I really like my peacebringer, but you need to get another character to 50 to unlock those. :bg:
Also, leveling is much faster now than it used to be, especially if you play mostly on teams.

CoM has now reached the goal of 806,000 prestige, which means it's time to set yet another goal.
In this case, that new goal is 901,000, which will cover the cost of an enhancement storage bin. Lemon Law and Foom shall appreciate having their loads lifted when the bin gets moved into the base in Issue 7.
Would you want Barsoomian to hold anything for you?

Nah.
Issue 7 should be out before the end of the month and unless I go on another AV binge, I shouldn't get too many uber-SOs before then. Something to keep in mind, just in case, though. :)
I kept track of the AVs Johnny fought - 15 in total, plus four repeats. You get a +3 SO for each fight so that was a lot of enhancements that were too high level to use (almost all were 53s).

I think the real problem is that Johnny is just too ambitious!

Well, I blew all but about 34,000 prestige on the following:
- control room with mainframe
- energy room with basic generator
- workshop room with table (both sold back)
- teleport room
- basic telepad
- beacons for The Hollows and Boomtown
The workshop and table were needed to convert salvage I had into material for a basic telepad. Once I had the telepad, I sold the workshop room and table back to be able to afford the room for the telepad. Oy. The control and energy rooms are needed to power devices - in this case the telepad. The two beacons allow you to use the telepad in the base to get to The Hollows or Boomtown, hopefully handy for lowbies doing missions in either zone. More beacons can be added (and have been collected for all available hazard zones).
To access the base, you will need to have City of Villains installed (yeah, I know it seems silly, but whadayagonnado?)
We need approximately 60,000 prestige to get the enhancement storage bin when Issue 7 comes out (hopefully within a few weeks) and of course, will need more still for what will undoubtedly be our new outrageous rent.
Enjoy!
I can just upgrade to CoV via the NCSoft website, right? And that will activate the content in my existing client?
Creole Ned

You can do it via NCsoft's website by buying the key, yes. Not the cheapest option but obviously the quickest. Online purchase is here (https://secure.plaync.com/cgi-bin/plaync_buy.pl) - you'll be prompted to enter your PlayNC info. Anyone who has CoH updated already has CoV installed, you just need the key from NCsoft or a retail box to upgrade your current CoH account.
Note that you do NOT choose "Add game" as that will register CoV as a separate game and get you two monthly billings. Choose to upgrade your CoH account and it gets added as an expansion with no extra fee.

To cover the enhancement storage in Issue 7 and rent, we need approximately 96,000 prestige (if anyone has access to paying rent, please don't pay it; the base remains functional for four weeks after rent is due, effectively reducing the rent).
Prestige total as of May 31: 101,272
