Smackdown 156: In the Lap of the GoopGod
Date: Sunday, March 19th
Time: 7 p.m. PST, 9 p.m. Central, 10 p.m. EST
Game: UT2004
Gametype: Team Deathmatch
Mutator: Pinata2k4
Map: DM-BP2-GoopGod
After a long slumber, the Smackdown (hopefully) returns!
You will need UT2004 and Epic's Mega Pack to play. The Community Bonus Map Packs are not required for this SD, but may be in the future.
We will be using Q's Pinata2k4 mutator, which causes dead players to explode in a random collection of health and other pickups. If you don't have the mutator, it will auto-download from the server (it's very small).
The gametype is Team DM and will be best 2 of 3. Teams will be set to best balance the mix of vets and less experienced players. :)
There will be some warm-up stuff beforehand, so feel free to show up early. Punch and pie will also be served afterward*.
* punch and pie will not be served

I'm going to make a dedicated effort to locate a copy of the game.

Small correction: This will be Smackdown 156, not 158. It appears the scores for SD 156 and 157 were permanently lost and will not be included when the updated Smackdown pages move to the Martian Cartel site.

I've got lots of practicing to do before next Sunday. No way I'm going to embarrass myself in the one game I'm good at. :)

I'll be there, and be distracted by the Sopranos. Have fun blasting me!
I will be missing this as myself and my girlfriend will be in NYC Sun-Wednesday on a mini vacation. Have fun without me, and I'll make the next one.
She may be interested in joining in in the future, tho...she actually played Tribes 1, it turns out. I'll have to ask her.

I went looking for the game last night, couldn't find it, and figured it was Fate. I'm still interested in HL2 or other Smackdowns as I no longer have standing plans for Sunday nights.

Get it from GoGamer. :)
I got it from amazon. It took just under a week to land on my doorstep, but it got here.

Thanks to Circuit, Paladin, pogo, Postal and Q for taking part. Team Red won 2-0, but they had the dirty pingwhore on their side (me).
The Assault maps were fun (when the maps were good) and ONS-Urban schooled us for a bit before we finally got the hang of it and taught the bots a lesson. Thanks to everyone who came by. We shall do this again soon!

Tai, you need a less comfortable chair.
I'll be posting a follow-up Smackdown for this Sunday, just narrowing down which map to use. I would advise everyone interested to get the two CBP2 map packs installed, just in case. Also note that the umod version of these packs (which comes in a zip, like the zip version) will not correctly detect the version number of UT2004 and won't install. Just use the straight zipped version instead.
