One more post about characters.
Issue 5 introduces four new powersets:
Sonic Blast (blaster primary, defender secondary)
Sonic Resonance (defender primary, controller secondary)
Archery (blaster primary, defender secondary)
Trick Arrow (defender primary, controller secondary)
Anyone thinking of making characters with the new powersets or have youngish characters they could team with newbies using the new sets? I have a sonic/energy blaster on Test that I will probably remake on Triumph that fits in well with the Martian theme.

I wouldn't mind getting a Martian SG together. :)

Harold.
The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters.

He just needs a name...
Tharsis Bulge... it's the name of a huge bulge on the martian surface, 10km high and 4000km long. And it's make a great name for your super hero. :)
While I have not designed him, I am thinking of an arrow/arrow defender named "Martian Archer", which for some reason I quite like. That said, I am open to better name ideas if anyone has them.

My Martian will most likely be naked.
Also, I fixed the minimum character limit so it is now two. That means you can make a post as short as:

edit, I clicked on the emoticon on the right of this box and it put in the text, not the smiley

My initial hunch was the forum automatically punishes people who don't reply to the topic. Further investigation reveals that the software is particularly braindead regarding smilies and the use of capital letters. Henceforth the following codes will enable the appropriate emoticons:
:spank: = paddle
:p = stick out tongue (note lower-case p)
On the actual subject, I'm wondering how quickly we could get new characters up to 25. That would solve the whole new character/Croatoa thing in one fell swoop. Given that I seriously doubt there is any content we haven't seen at the lower levels, we should be able to zip through fairly quickly, no?
I would in no way be averse to flying through the early levels, as I'm sick of Frostfire like you wouldn't believe.
This would probably be the best time for me to create Cosmic Hippo over on Triumph and ride on up with you. But I know I'll just end up getting left in the dust due to my poor schedule :(
I wishes you all happy hunting :wavey:

Unless the level gap gets really large, the sidekick system lets you keep up with others fairly well, hazard zones excepted. Last night Tick's controller (level 20) was able to contribute to a team that had two level 37 Kheldians.

My new guy's name is Joey Two-Scoops, btw. I was going to go for some kind of Martian/mobster hybrid name, but couldn't think of any good ones. So instead I went with a nonsensical character name that sounds like someone who belongs to a crime syndicate on Mars perhaps. They have Raisin Bran on Mars, right? Pal's suggestion for Tharsis Bulge came too late, too.
Joey's only level 5, though, so I'm not averse to remaking him if we decide to go with a more specific theme. Well, that is assuming we're even going to make a Martean Cartel supergroup. I guess it would probably make more sense to make one for City of Villains, but there are good cartels, right? I'm certain if there were they'd eat Raisin Bran.

I'm not sure what a Martean Cartel would be - haha, spelling n00b!!!
My new character will be using the sonic blast powerset, so he won't actually get made until Issue 5 goes live (Real Soon Now®). I'm up for an MC supergroup. Once I get my li'l guy up to level 10 the SG can be formed, with madcap hijinks to follow immediately afterward.

I'm up for an MC supergroup.
this drives me batty when I see it in chat.
MC stands for Martian Cartel. When I read that I see 'I'm up for an Martian Cartel supergroup'
Unless you're really trying to say 'I'm up for an emmsee supergroup'
I'll ask the wife about wednesday night and see how much aggro I gather
edit - yay for me! I replied to two different threads in one post!

So you're one of those people who reads and grammatically engineers sentences for acronyms as the things they stand for instead of how they're pronounced as the letters they're made up of. So you would read "NASA" as "National Aeronautics and Space Administration" instead of simply "NASA"? U r looser! :spank:

I will probably reactivate when issue 5 hits and try out the new powersets.
Next question...
Who's planning to play City of Villians?

I was at Best Buy today and suddenly giddy with the site of so many new games.
It's become like Christmas, though.
There all all the boxes for new games (Quake 4, CoV, Dugeon Siege II, etc) and all the boxes say in yellow at the top:
Preorder Only: Not Full Game

RA? You mean Recovery Aura or Regeneration Aura? :bg:
EDIT: Or I could say that Angry Carrot is an SS without SS but has SS*.
I've not seen the CoV pre-order boxes yet, but I will be picking up the full dealie when it comes out. Not so much for the villainy part of it, but more for the new zones, new AT's, powers and bad guys (or good guys, as the case may be).
Issue 5 and CoV beta are both expected to be out/start before the end of the month.
