The Lost Coast add-on level (with nifty new lighting effects) will be released on Steam Friday. Happy Headcrabs!
I have no idea what this means :) Would this be for HL2 or CS?

It is an additional single-player level for Half Life 2. I've never really found anything to say whether it fits intot he HL2 story at all or if it's a stand-alone tech demo. The reason it's a big deal, for folks with beefy systems and state of the art video cards, is the integration of "high dynamic range lighting", which pretty much ups the realism to near photo-graphic.
The downside is you have to have a hella-system to play it: 3.2Ghz Pentium 4 or better, 1GB of system ram, and a Nvidia 6800 or or ATI x800 video card or better. As far as I've been able to tell, you won't be able to play the level AT ALL if you don't meet those specs. Oh well, guess the rest of us will have to wait for the Aftermath expansion in the fall.

Wait, people under those specs can't even play it or can't use the fancy new lighting?
Oooo, I shall ahve to take a look, I like spiffy eye candy :)

I can see its time to start building a new Monster.
I haven't bought a new comp since my 1.7.
Sigh.

I've read that it's a 2ghz CPU or better, which seems more realistic. Either way, I'll grab it and try it out since I at least meet the video card requirement.
It looks pretty blurry....

Tai's title should be "Perpetually Drunk"
No, no, there are rare moments of sobriety. Few and far between though. Summers really raise my thirst.
