Need Help?

This is the thread to ask about stuff like avatars and cookies and options regarding the new forum. As long as people are migrating over, I'd like to be able to address problems that I don't encounter on my own. There are some new and unusual features in vBulletin, and the admin account hides some of the difficulties of a non-admin user. I have a test account I added to see some of these problems, but please report or ask about things that you find and Ned or I will try to respond.

How do you get a nifty avatar to show up, like the one I added to my user profile?

click on User CP up at the top, then go to Edit Avatar. You need to be of a certain member level to add new avatars, so if you don't find one from the old list you like, let me know. We'll add them for now or until we determine what level allows you to add your own.

Yea, I guess I am looking to add a new one so let us know when that functionality is present and I will try again then.

Also, I added my avatar from CoH to the QB forums from my own PC. Would that have been uploaded to those forums and available for here? Oh i also added my Marvin Martian one there today.

Your avatar is showing in your user profile, Harka. I'm not sure why it wouldn't be showing on the forum. I've checked and found no restrictions in place. I added mine before my account had admin access. I'll have another look through the admin panel.

Any non-admins able to upload their avatars successfully?

I cannot unclick the 'no avitar' button on the userCP 'edit avitar' column.

Okay, the Gazoo pic was saved as your profile image, not as an avatar. I've uploaded it as an avatar, so you are good to go.

EDIT: Added Harka and BoX's, too.

Can't yet. It's not available until they start assigning user levels. So for now, continue to use the "pester Ned/JR until they add your image to the image bank" method. :p

No more need to pester. All registered users can now upload their own avatars, with the following restrictions:

100x100 pixels
20000 bytes in size

The 100x100 size is the same as the QB forums.
