New Alliance Race?

Computer Games magazine's February 2006 issue includes an article on the WoW expansion in which they flat out say the new alliance race will be the Draenei (http://www.wowwiki.com/Draenei). The Computer Games editor has now said that they don't have official confirmation from Blizzard and the article *should* have said it was unconfirmed, but he also says he believes his sources are reliable, and it sounds to me like his statement about it being miswritten are either a bit of covering his ass with Blizzard or the whole thing is Blizzard PR faking a leak.

In any case... if this what we're getting, they had better be able to be shamans to make up for it.

This was debunked by the editor of the magazine by saying "That should have said it was a rumor."

Blizzard also said that they haven't released anything and any information to the contrary is pure supposition.

I already don't see how the Blood Elf cutie pies fit with the horde. How the Draenei would fit the Alliance I can see even less.

The conventional wisdom is too many people choose Alliance over Horde and one of the reasons why is because all of the Horde characters are "ugly". One solution is to give the Horde the "sexy" Blood Elves while tossing the Alliance a race that visually would fit in better with the Horde.

It's kind of silly, but so are people, so it will probably work.

Yea, but according to their chintsy logic no one will play the ugly alliance race unless they give the Alliance Ugly Pugs some outstanding racial bonuses as insentive to play them and if they do that then you still have the unbalanced numbers.

Looking at those write ups tho, the Drenai make the most sense in the ugly race department.

Conspiracy theorists would argue that they don't want people to play the new Alliance race, again, to help encourage balance between the two sides.

Yeah, I guess it all makes sense if you look at it that way.

And who says all horde chars are ugly? I love my troll chick! I think she is cute with her red mohawk even if she has ugly toes. And once I'm in that mindset, I can even find a troll male with gigantic tusks and ears cute.

Not undead males and tauren chicks though. They are ugly no matter how you look at them.
