So as I was mentioning yesterday, I got into a Molten Core farming pug yesterday only to lose power for 7 hours as I was approaching the gryphon master to take flight. I love this idea and was wondering if anybody else has the interest in attempting something like this. I have no delusions about taking down any bosses however the guy that was co-leading the raid said they did the same thing saturday and had a whole bunch of gobbled-up blues and a purple drop just killing the trash mobs. I would like to at least see the inside of the core just once just to say I did it.

Thoughts? Ideas? Reasons we can't?

Discuss.

I need 4 more levels, but I would enjoy this approach

Any idea how many we'd need to take down a "trash" mob?

For the most part, I have zero interest in participating in a 40 man raid.

How many people we need depends mostly on our gear and on how organized we go about killing the mobs. I have been in successful groups of as little as 15 people. But we all had at least decent blue gear sets, and we were very well organized with a strong MT (hello BoX).

Aside from the blue drops and the occasional purples, the core hounds can be skinned, and some of the other mobs drop lava cores. Both are very valuable, so it's definitely worthwhile to farm MC even if you never get to down a boss.

Generally, I like Budly's idea and would like to participate in the farming. I am not sure when Kingdom will run MC again, but as soon as they do I cannot use Andri anymore to help as she would become locked to Kingdom's instance. But I could always take Brun. I'd need to get her better gear first though...

They were shooting for a 25-30 man raid, but for the most part it sounds like we could do with 20.

I would like to try this as well, Slither has little chance of seeing most end game instances, the big ones that is. So I would like to say "Hey I went to MC." at least once.

Are we all attuned?

Myex is not attuned, but she has the quest (I think-didn't actually read it yet)

The "Attunement to the Core" quest is probably the only one where I have ever led parties myself. It's a BRD quest, so anyone lvl 55-ish is good to go. And with the Shadowforge Key (which I have) to shortcut the entrance area it does not take long to do this quest either. If we wanna give it a shot, I'm all for it. Heather's Beltran might also need it, and maybe one of Pogo's many lvl 60 chars. The quest can be picked up on the way (it comes from the blood elf who stands at the bottom of the chain).

Lemme know whatcha think.

If you chance across the Mooncloth Vest Pattern which is supposed to drop in there, please save it! We're trying to get it :)

Found this http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-realm-arthas&t=255439&p=1&tmp=1#post255439 concerning the very raid I was gonna go on. Do we have any interest in making contacts?

Budly, the group they are talking about in tah thread (Alliance of Equals) is the group I went with several times. I was there when they took down Onyxia for the first time; and I went with them to ZG and some BGs. The Swords of the Morning are among the guilds that are part of AOE, and I have been good friends with them ever since we Pandas went on a strat run with them. I have been leveling a couple of my lowbies with the Swords' GM, Arthurdayne.

The problem with AOE is that they are so big now that they had to have people sit out for MC. That pissed off those who could not go. They wanted to split it into 2 raid groups, but they were not quite enough for that. I can ask Art what the current status is.

Another problem with AOE is that since it's not a guild there is nobody really in charge of all 40 people in thge MC raid. If somebody does some BS, you can't really discipline them unless they are from your own guild. You can tell the GM of that person's guild that you are unhappy, I guess, but you have to leave it up to them how they handle it. It's also not entirely clear how the loot works. I went with them because they needed more priests, and I rolled on stuff in ZG. Not sure how they would have liked me rolling on Onyxia loot. The issue did not come up because she did not drop any priest stuff. They generally have a DKP system in place to distribute loot.

To become a part of AOE, you have to sign up at their website, which is (I think) aoe.blackavatar.com. I can ask Art to confirm. I have never checked out this site as I always got in through invites. I also have their vent info. If you want to hook up with them, start with the website.
