Thanks guys. We must do that again.

As much as I hate rogues, it was neat as hell to see you all swarming around us while we ate and drank between fights as a protective screen.

I think the fact that our numbers where disguised by rogues gave us the long, unchallenged assault that we enjoyed. If the Horde knew there were only 9 of us, they probably would have rushed us much sooner.
I love the fact that it took over 20 people to finally route us out. :)
Also, really great job of teamwork. It would have been nice to have a healer with us (I think Zurrock would have been perfect) but all things considered, I only died twice the whole night based entirely on someone always coming to my side for support.
It's funny how Pogo asked if I'd made my 25 kills for the week to progress towards Corporal. I'd only had two and said there was little chance of making 23 kills in the next few hours. I ended up with 35 more before the night was out.
I knew I should have logged in again last night, but I was soooo tired :( I got 6 of the 19 I needed when For, Fitty and I went on a protective rampage.
Last night was incredibly fun. If we had a healer/dispeller with us, I don't think anyone would have died (except for Foe, who is just insane - but we love him for it!).

If we get that many people in a group again, I'll bring my paladin himself. It was nice being able to play my hunter, but the dispels and healing would have been invaluable.
I dunno pogo, your pet was insane. I'm pretty sure that I died as little as I did only because of the havok he was causing.

I am with Tai. I feel sorry now that I logged out so early, but I could not keep my eyes open any longer. The excessive night gaming unfortunately works only if I get to sleep in on the weekends. But thanks to the in-laws those plans were successfully thwarted. :( I would have loved to provide the healing power you needed. Also, I'd really love to finally see Pogo's super crazy pet.

After today, though, Super Pet is toned down.
(Heaven forbid Hunters can kill something in PVP. That is reserved for Shaman and Warriors)

Dunno. With their f... traps hunters usually kick my warrior's ass. But it's probably me. I just suck. :yay:

I hate hunters with a passion. They have risen above shamans for me. I got chased by a 50 hunter into the water in the Hinterlands last night for (I shit you not) like 10 minutes. I managed to get tot he water and used a underwater breathing potion and swam down. After getting stunned, getting hit with mana reducing shots, fearing his pet about 10 times, and trying to stay out of the fatigue area I got away. I just got lucky, everytime my health was way low I had just enough mana for sheild and renew. He either gave up or drowned.
questions:
Can a hunter swim faster with AOTC? Also if I had Dotted him with S:Pain would that have stunned him while he was using AOTC?

damage over time ticks no longer daze a cheetah induced hunter
and I think it only helps with "run" speed, not swim speed

And Inka, you must, MUST attack them before they attack you.
a hamstrung hunter is a dead hunter-hamstring should be the first abilty you use on a hunter. and don't let it wear off

all swim speeds are the same unless you have a swim speed potion or that vagina druid shape. If he had been using AOtC (probably wasn't) after the patch, only the first tick dazes, not subsequent ticks.
Priests are easier for a hunter since you have to get close to fear them, and fearing them ultimately works in their favor, so yeah... I'd hate them too.
As a cloth wearer, if a hunter gets the drop on you then you're screwed, especially if the hunter is smart enough to use the mana draining sting. As a priest, your best bet is probably to DoT the hunter and then run outside of his shooting range. If the pet gets to you, fear it.
And, of course, the golden rule of fighting a hunter: "YOU CANNOT RUN AWAY FROM A HUNTER". Between tracking and increased run speed, they WILL catch you.

Depending on the situation, (can I find help fast?) I just never run anymore. If they are a higher level than me, they will eventually catch me anyway. I may as well stand and deliver. At least that way if help comes along, he will be half dead.
Why run, you'll only die tiered.

So far at level 31, it's been pretty pointless to run with my Warrior. If a much higher level horde sees me and wants to kill me, chances are I'm dead. I may as well get it over with as quickly as possible and get back to my business. Slappyjoe just dances before death. I'm sure it makes the big level 60's feel real tough fighting a dancing gnome.

Yeah but Foe, you know I never never attack anyone. :( I mean, I am just a peace loving creature. I want to be able to defend myself, but I don't usually attack folks. Aside from that, when a hunter sees me, the first thing they do is put down one of these freezing traps, which effectively kills my charge. I cna close to them and have enough rage, but before I can get off the hanstring, I am frozen. I praticed this with a friend. I don't know how many times we tried... The only way I had even half a chance is if he did not put down a trap. But what foolish hunter would not do that when they are out to gank you or are worried that you might attack them.
I'm gonna reroll rogue. There is something to sneaking up on people and being guaranteed the first strike.

I am slowly bound to agree. Hunters, rogues, shamans... all the same.

Why did you swim? You can run on water, whereas the pet and hunter would have had to swim. On water, you should actually have the best chance to run away from just about any class.

As a shadow priest, you have a chance to stun or slow down the pet by using mind flay and having 5 points in blackout. The stun is short but might be just long enough to give you the time to run out of range.
And BTW, I am much less afraid of hunters with my healing speced priest. As a general rule, fear the pet, don't bother fearing the hunter. KILL the hunter. I usually let shadow word pain do the job for me as it costs very little mana to cast. I may add a holy fire to it as it has another dot effect. All the rest of my mana is for shielding and healing myself, while I lay into them with my wand. (Don;t forget that you have this ranged and compeltely mana free weapon.)
What got you, bri, was the difference in level (and with that probably gear). Sure, hunters try to manaburn me, but with over 7,000 mana (unbuffed) they have a long way to go. And being all the way up the discipline tree actually makes me even stronger versus mana burners as I can buff myself with divine spirit (fast mana regen), and have the talents that give you +10% mana and one mana free cast (inner focus - which you can use on giving yourself a big heal if needed). As long as the f... pet does not resist fear all the time, my dot has a good chance to kill the damn hunter before he is ever able to deplete my mana pool.
Sometimes I actually love being a holy priest. Muahahaha.

I did levitate but as soon as you take damage it breaks the spell. Also with me having an almost endless supply of water breathing potions, deep water is my friend. :) I still have no idea how he kept up with me for so long though.
It was kinda funny how his pet was utterly useless due to fear.

He probably would have resisted my stun due to his level. But the main reason I asked was because when a Hunter is using AOTC any damage takin should stun him. After 1.9 DOTs will not stun him.
He also out ranged me by a long shot.

Yeah, I usually don't even try to run from them cuz they just slow you down with whatever that nasty stuff is they can do. Thing is, until you are lvl 60 you'll always face situations where people just outlevel you by so much that all your spells are useless. All the more incentive to get up to 60! :)
But even whan you are 60, group PvP absolutely sucks as a priest. I may be able to occasionally succeed against horde in a one-on-one, but in groups, I am always the first one killed. I spent all of my BG attempts mostly dead, whether it's WSG or AB. :(

Damage taken in AotC and AotP doesn't cause a stun if that's what you're expecting. It causes a daze that simply slows the hunter.
