Sunday, august 7th, around 4pm, i go outside, start up the grill, and sit down in a lawn chair to enjoy nature, and some world of warcraft. I no sooner engage a crocolisk when 4 cops come running through my yard.
"Did you see anyone back here?", the first cop asks.
"No, i just got out here.", I reply.
The cops run into my neighbor's yard, poke around a little and leave.
Pretty soon, more cops show up and start prowling around like it's an easter egg hunt. They aren't coming in my yard though so i ignore them. Besides, i have quests to do, etc.
after about an hour or so. A horde of cops come running down my driveway! There were the standard uniform officers (i think lvl 40 - 45) and a couple Elite detectives. They instructed me to get my dog inside because they had a runner. I complied, i'm only lvl 38, I couldn't really argue with them.
I unsummon my dog into the house as the cops storm my neighbor's garage. They kick the door in, and someone runs out. They all give chase, and i hear a ton of yelling out in the street, as like 5 motorcycle cops fly by on their mounts.
I would later find out that the mob they were after had run upon seeing them. He fled into my neighbor's yard, and hid in the garage just before i came outside. I had been sitting there, playing wow, while some guy was hunkered down hiding from the cops like 15 feet from me the whole time!
for a second, i thought maybe wow was making me oblivious to what was going on around me.
nah.
