Everyone seems onboard with starting a new world as interest waned/other activities took precedence toward the end of last year, so Postal has backed up the last map and is suggesting the seed '1867169'. It starts you out near an NPC village which may feel a bit like cheating but otherwise it looks ripe with possibility.
Have a look or suggest alternate seeds.

Once we decide we can restart the map when a bunch of us are around. Like maybe tonight? :)

'givemecookies', which also starts in an NPC village would also be a good pick. The nearby mountains seem a bit more spooky/cave-like, too.

I like maps with very rocky mountains. I'll take a look more at 'givemecookies'. I could put it on the main server for a bit if we like.

If 'givemecookies' is running now, I declare the server open to mining and crafting! (as long as Postal agrees)
When would we like to take the first crack at setting up the home base?

How about Friday night. I already know what I would like to try but it would be a very very big project. :)

So I take it Friday is not a good day. Any day that is good?

This looks like a good graphics mod I may try.

I came up with a plan for my ledge in the valley but it is another big project. Probably bigger then the dome project. :P I'm going to start framing it out with dirt and stuff before getting into it to figure out how to do it.

My favorite moment so far was the ill-advised night-time tour of the glass dome, complete with inevitable creeper appearance, followed by the glass exploding and both Postal and myself plunging to our deaths on the valley floor below.
On a less I'm-dead note I have almost completed the rail line between the village and the valley. I need a little more gold for more powered rail, though.
that video was pretty neat.
