So are we gonna see this happen this weekend?

I'm out at a concert Friday night, but I believe I have a free schedule for Sat and Sunday. So I could meet you guys there...

Andri

Loggy and I are flying out to Chicago Sunday evening, so that's not gonna work for either of us. Unfortunately, I can't make it Saturday either. But if anyone wants to bring a camera and tape Pogo while he is inflicting considerable pain and discomfort upon himself, I'd be fine with that. :bg: So feel free to go without me to the wing factory.

How long will you be in Chicago? I'm only a little under 2 hours away!

I am in like Flynn. Just be sure to give me wonderful directions and a few hours leeway as I try to find my way through this God forsaken setup they call a road system.

I can now say I've had the pleasure of meeting the infamous pogozorro.

He informed me that his home decor consists of 1 table lamp and a bed made out of heavy blankets.

That is all.

Tai

Cool! He found you! I was wondering how his move yesterday went :) Are we looking at a Saturday outing to Flatliners, or what?

bridude
12-01-2005, 12:50 PM
I dunno, no word from loggy yet.

EDIT: Comcast is apperently having problems. They can not add any new users to the network. Thats why Pogo hasn't been on. Hopefully its back up tonight cause I need his help with my gnomergon quests. *chuckle

jackrabbit
12-01-2005, 02:25 PM
he's in IRC now... so it's either working now or we have a doppleganger in our midst.

Also... Log, Inka, when will you be in Chicago? I have no serious plans for Sunday and might manage a trip down for dinner and beers.

Andri
12-02-2005, 09:22 AM
JR, my suspicion is that loggy is not checking the MC website while on the road (he is California this week, I believe). That's why he does not answer. Our flight on Sunday does not bring us into Chicago until 9 PM or so, but we have fully refundable tickets. We could change them to early flights on Sunday. I'd sure be up for it. I'll call loggy on his cell to ask whether he's up for it. We'd have to make it back to our hotel in Joliet that night though.

Geez, this would be actually really cool. The first time in a while that I'd not think I'd rather be playing WoW right now.

Andri
12-02-2005, 09:28 AM
Tai, I'll also try to get an answer from Loggy re flatliners. As the king of enduring self-inflicted hot sauce pain he will not want to miss putting Pogo through the experience. Also, YOU would not want to miss his face slowly turning purple while the sweat gathers on his forehead (which might actually have a few hairs less on it thereafter) and he pours packs of sugar combined with milk, ice water and beer down his throat. It's really quite a sight.

Tai
12-02-2005, 09:39 AM
I will stick with an order of their yummy hot poppers, but I will enjoy watching the others sweat. Besides, they have good beer there too :)

bridude
12-02-2005, 10:28 AM
Inka, when are you guys coming back? We may have to just put it off till next weekend.

Andri
12-02-2005, 10:34 AM
Here's the word from Loggy...

He has been out traveling all week and will be out again on Sunday and Monday night. So his wife will probably not be happy about either him going out for flatliners Saturday night or changing his flight to something earlier on Sunday. The way I understood it, he might talk to her about Saturday, but he will not change his flight on Sunday. He will post something tonight for you, Tai.

JR, Loggy suggested that we could try Monday night instead of Sunday. We will still be in up the area that night. Our meeting in Joliet should finish at about 3 PM, so we could head out to wherever you suggest after that. We'd need to make it back to the Chicago airport that night, but it does not really matter how late. We can sleep on the plane on Tuesday... :bg: Would that work for you?

bridude
12-02-2005, 10:40 AM
If loggy gets divorced hes all mine.

Andri
12-02-2005, 10:50 AM
Who is going to be the bride in this happy couple? You or Loggy?

We will be back Tuesday night. I'd generally prefer to hang out for wings on Fridays because I usually do not commute on Weekends and Fairfax is a long way from Baltimore. However, I have so much work to do that I might have to throw in a few Saturdays anyway. So if Saturday works better for everybody, I'm game. (Being able to look forward to watching Loggy and Pogo squirm in pain would actually add some much needed incentive to working on a weekend.)

bridude
12-02-2005, 10:59 AM
well since I'm not ready to leave my wife, we would have to keep it on the down low.

I'd be up for Monday. I'll need to let my wife know, cancel a meeting, and hope the weather holds out. Then we'd have to decide on a place to meet. Also, my wife has volleyball that night so I'd be on my own in the terrirory she grew up in (and so I've never bothered to learn my way around there on my own... just ask Orion or Dg3Nr8). I'll pass along my cell phone info and we can decide on a place once you guys are settled in. When you land in O'Hare, look for a place to meet. Give me a call either Sunday night or Monday.

Andri

Pogo is supposed to eat flatliners for lunch then? Hahahaha, I hope he doesn't plan on doing anything important after that cuz he'll be useless. Especially if he washes the wings down with beer. :bg:

Anyway, I'm game whether it's lunch or dinner.

Does anyone want to place some bets on this thing to make it interesting? Pogo still maintains that he'll eat ten.

Yeah, let's do that! Here are my suggestions:

1. How many flatliners will pogo actually eat? (The obvious one)

2. What color will his face turn during the process of eating them?

3. Is pogo a silent sweater or a noisy panter?

4. What will his favorite medium of pain control be? (Usual options are milk, soda, water, bread, and sugar)

5. Will he remember not to use the hot sauce infested hand to wipe the tears out of his eyes?

6. Will he finally admit that this is the most horribly hot food he ever ate, and that he never wants to eat or even smell a flatliner again?

7. Will he forever hate us for making him inflict this senseless pain upon himself?

And in the more gross area of bets:

8. How many days will he feel the consequences of his folly at his rear end?

9. Will he keep the flatliners down or will he make a mad dash for the bathroom before the afternoon is over?

10. Will he remember not to use the hot sauce infested hand when taking a leak?

11. Will he mostly suffer from heartburn or from uncontrollable burping, or from a combination of both?

OMG I can hardly wait to see this! I am cracking up just thinking about how pogo's and loggy's unhealthy facial complexions will rival each other.

Tai
12-07-2005, 09:21 AM
I'm spending the entire week anticipating this event. I think I might bring a designated driver :bg: Someone fill me in on the backstory - who convinced pogo that he had to eat 10 of these death bites?

Fitty
12-07-2005, 09:31 AM
1. How many flatliners will pogo actually eat? (The obvious one)

no more then 3 and he gets $20 from me if he goes over

2. What color will his face turn during the process of eating them?

ghost white

3. Is pogo a silent sweater or a noisy panter?

silent sweater

4. What will his favorite medium of pain control be? (Usual options are milk, soda, water, bread, and sugar)

milk

5. Will he remember not to use the hot sauce infested hand to wipe the tears out of his eyes?

no :bg:

6. Will he finally admit that this is the most horribly hot food he ever ate, and that he never wants to eat or even smell a flatliner again?

yes

7. Will he forever hate us for making him inflict this senseless pain upon himself?

I would think so

And in the more gross area of bets:

8. How many days will he feel the consequences of his folly at his rear end?

2-3

9. Will he keep the flatliners down or will he make a mad dash for the bathroom before the afternoon is over?

bathroom visit

10. Will he remember not to use the hot sauce infested hand when taking a leak?

no (from experience) :(

11. Will he mostly suffer from heartburn or from uncontrollable burping, or from a combination of both?

heartburn and the "ring of fire"

Tai

I agree with Fitty's take on the questions. I think he should have put "ring of fire" before heartburn though.

Dang! This betting thing is not really going to work if we all bet on the same answers. But honestly, I agree with you Tai/Fitty. There is no way Pogo will eat more than 3 of these bitches; and we will get the usual laugh out of our victim returning from the bathroom in a rather peculiar gait. :bg: But then... JR and I just heard from Loggy that you once managed to eat 7 flatliners, Fitty. So who knows? Maybe we are in for a surprise.

The only two answers I'd put differently is that Pogo's face will take a purple shade (matching Loggy's) rather than white, and that he will not throw up. The latter is based on my assumption that he cannot possibly eat more than 3 wings, which his stomach should still be able to handle. Now, if he surprises us and eats more than 3, I may of course lose on both bets.

Well, I ate all ten wings.

The wings, though, were not official Flatliners as they were out of the sauce, so they took the next one down and spiced it up.

I was still able to put my name on the wall, so if you go to the place you will see, under number 20, "Pogo Ephraim Zorro" as an eater of 10 Flatliners.

Tai

There will be a rematch though for the real Flatliner experience. Most of us are willing to up our bets to the 6-8 range given how he did with the Torrid+ batch. :)
