Someone explain this to me.

Recently a video store about six blocks from my place closed. Aw. Then it re-opened as an XXX adult video store. Ew.

But more puzzling is this sign I saw today in the store window as I walked by:

Since the store presumably sells all the usual creams, lotions, oils and whatnot, why would they need a 'chemist' to make more? I don't get the angle. It also creeps me out a bit.

Some of the weird XXX stores around here are also Smoke Shops. Now they can't sell real drugs but maybe this guy is trying to be creative.

A conversation I had with my brother several years ago comes to mind. He was telling me about how they were discussing the chemical applications of new properties discovered for ________ element or mineral or whatnot. It begins to warm when put in contact with air or water.
And how one of his labmates put forth that the discovery could be used for adult lubrications (if I remember right this was about a year before Ky warming gel came out.)
