I went to see Toy Story 3 earlier today. Excellent movie. It seemed kind of short, but it was definitely a fitting finale to the franchise and a great return to it after an 11 year hiatus (can you believe that? Toy Story 2 came out in 1999).
I saw it in 3D, but while the 3D was well done, it really didn't add anything to the movie for me.
Also, if you have kids, you have probably heard this is a darker story than the previous Toy Story films. Well, it is, but there wasn't anything to scare kids in it or anything. It's more that this is a film about letting go of your childhood and growing up. Adults will get it. Kids won't. The kids won't get the "darker" tone at all because they haven't experienced growing up yet. For them it's just a fun, funny, exciting movie with characters they've probably loved on the small screen and now (FINALLY) get to see in theaters. For us older folks, it's a good story with a lot of nostalgia.
