I heard that the Starcraft II beta is out now. They also have a Mac version...

currently you can get a beta code by pre-purchasing on amazon or other stores.

Beta testing in this way confuses me: If you're going to buy it anyway, why not wait until it's fully released and been fully tested?

well, the beta is multi-player only, so it's interesting to get an advance view at how people are playing it..

and it is REALLY a "twitch" RTS. i'd say 98% of all games are decided in the first 4 minutes. but i don't get to see ANY single player campaign (and i prefer it that way, since it's the plot that makes Starcraft so amazing to me)

Oh good. I was looking forward to the single-player campaigns, and that's what confused me about the whole idea.
