Make Marmaduke Funny 2009 Edition

It is again time for me to ask the impossible: Make Marmaduke funny.

I went back to March of 2000 to find the strip that shall be mined for comic possibilities. It was a perilous journey, one I don't recommend for the weak, pregnant women or people with back problems.

Your task: Take the strip below and fashion it in such a way as to give it humor where humor did not exist before.

NOTE: No cheating by just writing a new line and saying "Now imagine it in the strip".
