More Battlefields (http://www.techtree.com/India/News/EA_announces_Battlefield_1943_Bad_Company_2/551-98653-585.html) are coming out at last. :)

The Wake Island demo for BF1942 is one of the best games ever. And yes, that includes the full version.

I am not that thrilled about BF1943 for some reason. It sounds like a cheapie take on the series but it's too early to say, I guess.

Postal will get the 360 version and ignore the rest of us, anyway. :P

I can honestly say I'm completely tired of WWII games.

I don't think I've played one in at least 4 years? Maybe 5.

Yeah, despite the glut of WW2 shooters, I've really only played two myself, BF1942 and Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (and that one remains one of my all-time favorites for team-based DM). The only CoD I have is #4 -- the one that *isn't* WW2. So I'm not tired of WW2 shooters. I'd almost say I prefer them to more modern ones (until you get totally over the top with games like the UT or Quake series, which I also lurv).

yeah, i'm sick of wwII. i can't remember how many times i've invaded normandy in an overlord map. Each time i do it i'm reminded that it really wasn't fun.

CoD: World at war is pretty good i thought it was gonna be another lame WW2 game but its actually a lot of fun

I can see why people burned out on WWII with the Call of Duty and Medal of Honor game, but I never really thought too much about the setting in terms of Battlefield 1942. I'm looking forward to both Battlefield 1943 and Battlefield Heroes. I just hope they make them both more like BF1942 with it originally came out, rather than the "balanced" (nerfed) game it became with the later patches. It seemed like each time they applied a patch, they tried to make it more "Call of Duty"-like in realism, and realism shouldn't be what the Battlefield games are about... they are arcade combat.

No medic, no ships, auto-healing and unlimited ammo. Doesn't sound like there's a big emphasis on realism there. :)

No ships? But driving the aircraft carrier around was FUN! Not to mention the fleets on the Guadalcanal map.

Well, no Guadalcanal map either, so problem solved!

Yeah, I just read another preview that said it is only shipping with 3 maps and 3 classes. Oh well, I'll probably skip it if they can't make a full-blown game.

Steam just released a cyberpace themed multiplayer combat game, and a capital ship space game. FREE :) I will probably check at least the space ships one once I get my iPhone to display my stupid button.
