To whom it may concern,
We should totally play Left 4 Dead tomorrow night.
Sincerely,
Frank

Dear Frank,
I am totally on board with your super idea. Let's teach zombies that it's not nice to rip us apart and feast on our innards, not nice at all!

Pablo

Dearest Frank and Pablo,
I am on board this idea train as well. There will be much gun play and accidental burning of teammates with molotovs.
Cordially yours,
Earnest

Dear Pablo and Earnest,
Thank you for taking the time to write words in response to my written words intended for your reading of them. I am feeling feelings of excitement and good emotions at the prospect of killing virtual zombies on the computer machine. I am certain we will all have a very adjectivey time while spending time killing the zombies mentioned before.
Adverb,
Frank Frankson
I promised the wife I would watch a movie with her tonight, but I might be around later-ish.

To Whom it may concern,
I will be online around 9pm central looking to kill some survivors, or zombies
Sincerely,
Smoker, i mean Jerry, I'm Jerry.
Hey! Look over there! it's a Boomer!

Boomer? I just met her!
I shall be there in lieu of writing a short story I can't think of a plot for.

I made a lobby and we played No Mercy (over Tai's protest :P) on the Normal setting (my first time playing outside of the demo) and had at various times me, Circuit, Tai, F7 and Sam playing. I did okay for my first time but I need to rebind some of my controls. Is there one to make crouching "sticky" so you can toggle it on and off?
Also, apologies to anyone I accidentally riddled with bullets. Except for Bill, cause he's a real potty mouth.
Also also, I didn't clue in that Sam was using the in-game voice (as was F7, I think?) so he could not hear some of us. I pretty much stick to the Vent server if I'm playing with people I know.
Thanks to all for playing, though. I look forward to more zombie re-education soon.
P.S. Pal, your message did not show up for some reason. I didn't even notice it until I was out of the game.

No wonder everyone else was so quiet. I don't know why I didn't think of connecting to the Vent server. :-/
No toggle on the crouchy. :( It's probably my biggest beef with the game. Perhaps there's an unbound .ini file entry for it but I'm too lazy to look.
And yes I was using in-game voice. I have an aversion to loading up apps for functionality that already exists in the game. :p
I was using both and getting real confused, heh. :) I was in a pretty confused state to start with of course. Did I manage to kill anyone? (survivor I mean, not zombies, I think I killed at least one of those).
No but you went Rambo in a few areas, attempting to take on the entire horde while the rest of us watched from afar. :yay:
ah, that's the TF2 Soldier mentality in me. :)

I may try rigging up a dedicated server and see how that goes.
And maybe I'll see how the in-game voice works. :o

it works EXTREMELY well. :) I think I had to change the default key so that it would match my TF2 key, but quality is great.

I used to have that problem with crouching. But playing Tribes 2 made me switch from the standard WASD movement keys to the ESDF configuration, which leaves my pinky finger right on top of the A key. I have that key assigned to "crouch", so I can pretty much do everything else (except for hit TAB to see scores) while crouching.
The disadvantage to using the ESDF config is that now I have to change default settings in EVERY FPS I play now.

heh, Ned does that too. :) With WASD my pinky sits right over ctrl so I am golden.

i also like the esdf configuration.
Yeah, been using it since T1 when I realized by shifting movement keys to the right, my fingers had access to about 6 more keys.
However I never considered using A as the crouch. Usually, I used that for zoom sight, melee attacks, or in Valve games; spray tag. I've always used V as crouch but since there's no toggle in L4D, I may have to give A a try.
