So Sharon has set Jan 23rd as the date Morsel and Simmers with Garlic go to the butcher. What do you think the viability of a savethosegoats.com website is? A simple 'thermometer' type gauge thing and a Pay Pal donate now button for people to donate in a bid to save the goats from execution?

What would be good targets? 2 grand per goat? 20 thousand? more?

Unless goats can use the Internet, they're going to end up as dinner no matter what, I'd suspect.

I figured I'd anonymously post links on the PETA site and other like minded places.

also, don't forget the cost of buying food for the people that could have been eating goat.

oo, good ones! Not to mention the educational costs of sending said people to school so they can learn to feed themselves. At this rate I think we can ask for at least 40k per goat.

If you do start a Save the goats site I recommend you take a cue from the McDonald's playbook:

Get a couple of friends to pretend they're fanatical about saving your goats: Then have an anoymous tipster report them to the local news: With any luck (or if you happen to live in the greater Seattle area, (which will report on just about anything: including a guy who has done the same job at a grocery store for 50 years.)) they'll run the story and create a fervor around saving your goats. Not unlike the McRib.

Then you can demand whatever ransom you see fit for your goats, and some do-gooder with too much money will pay it. Just don't forget to kick a couple bucks my way in the end :)
