Guys & Mrs. Pogo,

I hope you don't mind that I unilaterally checked into some options for us. As most of you know (I think), I have always been in contact with the Swords of the Morning, who are an absolutely Wowaholic bunch and pretty much online around the clock. Don't ask me what they live off - I have no clue when they would possibly ever be at work. :D But in any case, they are alike us in that they are mostly beyond college age, pretty laid-back, and a very loyal bunch as they consist mostly of family and close RL friends. At the same time, they are amazingly efficient. They all have multiple lvl 60 chars, who are at least partially decked out with epics, and all of their chars ride epic mounts. Aside from that, they made my entire Imperial armor set for free (I provided the mats, but Mag threw in a few of her own, I know that for sure), as well as BoX's enchanted thorium legplates. They do crazy stuff like soloing Uldaman just to see whether it can be done  , and one of them is currently on a quest to become Field Marshal (I tease him at least once a day about why he is not there yet).

Since they are family, they also have - like us - no ranks in their guild. They were not even quite sure who their GM is, since his/her task is about as extensive as Pogo's - namely to update the names behind lowbie alts and to disemminate information about what's going on. Their guild consists currently of 9 regular players. I do not know them all, but the ones I know are fun. I went on many instances with them (although mostly BRD and DM), and they struck me as very good players. The only real issue I have with them is that they can all access each other's accounts and that I, therefore, sometimes don't know who exactly I am talking to.

Art (who is, I suppose, their GM) suggested that we should just hang out and do some instances together to see how it's going. If any of you are online later today, maybe we can get something lined up. He and his wife Mag both have paladins; I am sure they would help us finally get the pally epic mount quest done.

Since this post is already getting rather verbose (and I hope I am offending at least somebody with it!!! ), I will refrain from explaining how they get their MC and ZG epics and what loot system they operate under. I can tell you on vent if you are interested.

In the meantime, your thoughts and comments are welcome. (Pogo - no caps please!)

Dunno what your thoughts are on the UBRS run yesterday... It was certainly not the cleanest ever executed, but it was definitely one of the fastest to ever get assembled and into the instance door. Aside from that, we were not on a common vent server, and some people got stuck in Blizzard's wonderful "we are aware that some of you may be experiencing problems logging into the game" world.

On a more selfish note, I got what I came for (Drakk's blood), which gave me an opportunity to do another run into the dragon cave in Winterpring and take a screenshot of my own hot butt in barely existing undies. So I'm happy. :p

please post screenshots. ;)

I'll likely come back for 1.9, and I'd like the chance to do Zul'Gurub if nothing else. I really don't care much about Molten Core.

JR, I will gladly share the screenshot with you. Just keep in mind that this is my avatar's butt - my real one is of course a whole lot cuter. ;)

The mention of screenshots brings me back to another issue: my aforementioned ineptitude with computers. I don't want to clutter up a lot of space by putting the shot directly into the forum. But I have no clue how you guys get your shots to be accessible via links. I assume you post them somewhere else on the web. I don't know how to do that. I have a whole collection of shots by now, including one of Pogo and Heather in an incriminating situation, but so far the viewing pleasure is limited to myself.

you can attach them to a post without having them display (until clicked on) but an easier way would be to upload them to a website. There's no really simple way to explain how to do it, but I can go into detail if you'd sincerely like to know.

If you like, you can zip them into one big zip and mail them to me, and I will host them for you...

I recommend ImageShack (http://www.imageshack.us/) for all your image-hosting needs. Free 'n easy.

So now it comes down to how much time I want to spend on figuring this out. I could be a lazyass and just mail the shots to Tai, or I could go to imageshack and see if I pass the intelligence test that will undoubtedly be involved in getting the shots up through there. Boy, these are hard choices...

Don't feel bad, I have ss'd since the game came out, but I have never been able to find them on my computer, so they have all been lost.

Take the lazy route if you want, it's pretty easy for me to stick them on my host.

Budly, my screenshots reside here:

C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Screenshots

It's hard, I know ;)

Allow me to be a bit more specific. When I click the ss button I have no idea where the ss goes on my computer, I have no idea what to do with it after that point.

so you can, or can't, find the .jpg files in your screenshots directory? Just trying to figure out where to start the step by step instructions from :) Or is it a case like I have in BF2, where it doesn't output the screenshot at all?

When I take screen shots they are not done in .jpg, WoW saves then in .tga format i think, so you then need to get a converter to make them .jpg , .gif etc... or to view them as windows I dont think has an enherent tool for viewing .tga files.

but as to where they go, the go to /program files/world of warcraft/screenshots directory. Or if you installed WoW someplace specific just go to its directory and go to the screenshots folder and voila! there they are

Well whaddaya know, there they are!
All sorts of fun pics, Tai getting his horse, one of our first raids in horde territory, and of course the gold spammers.

So then, the next question is how you make the little movies. Anyone?

Here Budly...

You will need some additional software to do it.

Mine started coming out as jpg's instead of tga's after some patch. Prior to that, I had a little tga to jpg thingy.

I miss my horsie :(

Tai, thanks for all the help. I have all the screenshots on my computer at home, so I'll have to e-mail them from there (i.e. after workhours). I think, mine are in tga format too. For the longest time, I could not view them because of that. I recently installed the software for my dig camera though, and that program suddenly let me pull them up like pictures. I guess that's the program that does it anyway. Unless my computer downloaded something else while I was not looking. That is always a possibility. I rarely ever have a clue what's going on. It just DOES things... Budly, man, I'm soooooo with ya! :bg:

I can convert the tga's for you, no problem. Just send whatever. I'll PM you my email address in case it's not already floating around somewhere. :)
