What PS3 games do you own?

I just got a PS3 on Thursday (Remote play via PSP is pretty cool). All I have currently is Motorstorm.

I did rent and finish Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and my wife borrowed the newest Ratchet & Clank from one of her coworkers.

Can you recommend any decent games?

Bah! Why no questions for me and Q? We both have PS3s! What model did you get sam?

I have quite a few. Here's my thoughts:

Retail Games:

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed: I like the game and all, but usually any game without a multiplayer aspect I will suggest RENTING.

Civilization: Don't buy. Multiplayer is fun but the single player game kind of sucks. The devs took the cheesy route and at the higher difficulty settings, chose to let the computer outright cheat as opposed to actually having a great strategy.

Clive Barker's Jericho: Don't buy. Definitely a game for renting. Awesome single player experience. However it has no replayability.

Call of Duty 4: Great game. Mutiplayer is very fun. I still play this game regularly.

Soulcalibur 4: Many people insist it's a must buy. I don't. I got bored very quickly.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Must buy. This game is the pinnacle of the action/stealth genre although you can go the route of all out destruction.

GTA4: Must buy. I still occasionally play multiplayer.

Assassin's Creed: Rent it. Great game, not much replayability.

Heavenly Sword: Rent it. Absolutely gorgeous game game ( I think it's much prettier than Uncharted) and I replay it every so often, but the game is a bit short. I personally love it and am glad I bought it but I know I'm in the minority in regards to this game. The voiceover work should be the standard for video game voiceover work. Andy Serkis (Gollum) does an amazing job as King Bohan. Just typing this I'm rediscovering my love affair with this game.

Conan: Rent it. Buggy as hell.

Resistance: Fall of Man: I think it's a must buy. Great game, high replayability, great online experience. Plus, you might want a foundation for the upcoming Resistance 2.

Playstation Network Games:

Everyday Shooter: Maddeningly difficult game. I have a love/hate affair with this game. I would say don't buy it but then again, I can't seem to get past level 5.

Pixeljunk Eden: Don't buy it. Gorgeous game but monotonous and boring.

Novastrike: Don't buy it. It will piss you off.

Pixeljunk Monsters: Must buy. Extremely addicting. It's a tower defense type game with a twist.

Super Stardust HD: Must buy. Great arcade shooter. I usually play this when my wife is getting ready to go out. It's good for a 15 minute run or an hour long marathon session.

fl0w: I personally liked this game. There's not much to it but it's very calming and I like the work of ThatGameCompany. I'm excited to see their upcoming game fl0wer.

PS2 Games: You may want to consider picking up God of War 1 & 2.

Don't spend too much money though as there are several games on the horizon:

Little Big Planet
BioShock
Fallout 3
Dead Space
Silent Hill: Homecoming
SOCOM
Saints Row 2
Golden Axe: Beast Rider
Far Cry 2
Legendary
Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe

And if MMORPG's are your thing, keep an eye on The Agency and DC Universe Online, both of which are PS3 exclusive.

My PS3 network name is FSeven if you want to add me.

(big, helpful list)

Sorry for leaving you guys out; Circuit was the only one I knew who had a PS3. I got the 80GB version -- the newest one without the backwards compatibility, only 2 USB ports and no card reader. Thanks for the list.

Some of those games (GTA4, etc.) I have on the 360, but I'm really looking forward to Little Big Planet.

My PS3 doesn't get much play, but the 3 games you already mentioned are 3 of the best on the system, Sam. Besides those, the must-haves are pretty slim since you also own a 360 and likely have most of them already. But the others I like are:

Super Stardust HD: Sort of like Geometry Wars, but played on a small, spherical "planet" with more weapon power-ups and really good graphics.

Resistance: I'd probably recommend renting it. It was alright, but I tend to not like shooters on the PS3's gamepad much. If the same game was on 360 I'd probably like it more. Great-looking game, though, and a neat take on WW2 shooters.

Metal Gear Solid 4: This one really depends on how familiar you are with the whole series. The action parts are decent and the graphics are fantastic, but this game's almost entirely story-driven. So if you're a fan of MGS and love lots and lots (and lots) of cutscenes, you may enjoy it. Personally, I got more enjoyment out of watching the cutscenes on Youtube than I did when I played the game for a bit when my roommate bought it. You can skip the cutscenes and just play the rest, but that's missing literally half the game.

And that's pretty much it. Every other good game on the system aside from a few decent PSN games is also on the 360. As F7 said, there are quite a few good ones coming, but very few of them are PS3 exclusives. Little Big Planet looks pretty damn cool, though.

I have zero familiarity with the Metal Gear Solid series, so I'll probably skip that one. Thanks, guys, for your replies.

I will second F7's suggestion for PixelJunk Monsters. In addition to being lots of fun, it's pretty darn cheap. If you download the demo, you'll get a very good idea of how the whole game is.
