Lucasarts just let go between 50-100 in a move a lot of people think is a sign they are moving more to outsourced development. A number of ex-employees apparently decided they would go ahead and spill a few of their ex-employers' secrets. Take it with a grain of salt, but they say that KotoR 3 is in the works and is a joint venture between Bioware and Lucasarts, and it is an MMO. They also said there is a new Battlefront game in the works, which was already known, and a Wii lightsaber game.

LucasArts has had really inept management for years now. I've seen them say they put out too many Star Wars titles then promptly glut the market with them the following year. They talk about bringing development in internally then promptly lay off dozens or hundreds (they've done this particular outside/internal development thing several times). Then there are the many cancelled titles, often after they've been in development for some time.

KotOR 3 would be a long way off unless they pass it off to a third party dev that can crank out games in good time. I doubt it would be an MMORPG, rumors notwithstanding.

Also, take everything posted on Kotaku with not just a grain of salt, but a sack of it. They trade in quantity, not quality.
