Just a reminder for those in the CoV beta, Statesman's Strike is taking place tomorrow night (Wednesday). That's right, Statesman himself will appear in-game at Fort Darwin with a picket sign, joining the bedraggled citizens of Mercy Island in declaring "We are grundy!" He will then sit as a panhandler next to Mongoose before concluding the evening by joining the Blighted, staggering and vomiting on the giant debris piles in Darwins Landing.

Or he'll be joining the goodniks of Longbow in an end-of-beta invasion style attack of the Rogue Isles.

One or the other.

Official story thinger here (http://www.coh.com/news/archives/2005/10/villains_prepar_1.html).

I will likely be on with either Undead Greg, my level 26 dominator or Carl the Bat, my sassy and screamy level 24 corruptor. It shall be a laggy good time.

I do not!

I have been spending most of my time on the training room lately, testing out ED.

I was trying to "TELL" you the other night but it wouldn't go through for some reason.

Hmm, that's strange. I haven't put anyone on my ignore list. In fact, I'm not even sure how to do it with global names.

So you will be at the big event tomorrow, yes?

What about those of us who's villains are a measly couple of levels? Best we stay out of the fray, or are they gonna bump some levels?

I will try like hell to be there. :)

If it works like it did in the CoH beta, all the "invaders" will con purple to everyone just like giant monsters do.

Also, I will be greatly angered if SBC doesn't have my DSL fixed by tomorrow.

I never got a character over level 10 till after the level bump, so all mine with the exception of my Brute are around the 4-8 level range. I think I got quartz up to 11 or 12 now.

Yeah, everything will kill you regardless of level, so no worries there.

They've now posted the starting time for the event:

5 p.m. Pacific
7 p.m. Central
8 p.m. Eastern

EDIT: The event is set to last for three hours. The server will be up for a short time afterward so you can say goodbye to all your beta characters before they get nuked.

Take lots of screenshots! I won't be home until around 9:30, so hopefully I won't miss all of the neato stuff.

I briefly saw Statesman in Mercy Island 9 (there were over 20 instances of Mercy at one point). I had him targeted in a group of about 100 players and then he was dead. Got numerous reports of other hero sightings but the only one I got to battle for an extended period was Synapse. The dev playing him was having a lot of fun letting players beat on him and then superspeeding away, forcing the giant mob to follow him all over the place. He had some pretty funny dialogue, too, but hero chat is off by default, so most people missed that.

Very laggy at times but also a lot of fun. My level 26 dominator was taken out by a level 12 Longbow boss. Ouch. I got revenge through use of dominator headaches.

The server stayed up for about an hour after the event ended but most people had left by the time it was shut down. There were a couple of torch vigils here and there. An admin came on and said:

Attention, villains. The beta has ended.

And yoink, no more free game! :jester:
