I know that this happened almost a week ago, but last Tuesday was the 20th anniversary of the launch of the Nintendo NES system in the U.S.--

Now readgardless of what type of gamer you are today, I think it would be hard to find someone who did not ever play a game on the NES- or at the least understand the profound impact that this system had on the world of gaming and home entertainment as we know it. And at the very least, it gave us a little Italian plumber hero-- who thankfully had nothing to do with the mafia or anything other lameo stereotypes. Unfortunely, I can not absolve him for that terrible movie with John Leguizamo.
Getting a little sentimental thinking about those formative years homing my gaming skills on the old NES-- quality times they were. (Sorry, this old man likes to ramble...) Anyway, if you have any interesting thoughts, memories or just want to give props to a classic gaming system-- feel free to post.

Um... me? :(
But I spent my youth in backward Europe. That doesn't count then. :bg:

Does anyone know where to find those little emulator game pads? The ones with like 100 NES games built right into the controller, which plugs into the TV with RCA cables and no console?
I've googled everything I can think of and I just can't seem to find it.
Oh, and thank you Nintendo for wasting countless hours of my life. I couldn't have done it without you, fantasy novels, D&D and that stack of Playboys we found while dumpster diving as youths.
So you're looking for an all in one unit, not something that would run on XBox or PC? I only remember the atari one...
These are the only ones I can find:
Atari: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00009VDXX/ref%3Dpd%5Fsim%5Ftoys%5F1/103-8476969-9636615?v=glance
Namco: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00009VDXX/ref%3Dpd%5Fsim%5Ftoys%5F1/103-8476969-9636615?v=glance
Activision: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0001HYSG4/ref%3Dpd%5Fecs%5Fvg%5Ft%5Fa/103-8476969-9636615?v=glance
oops, found some more:
Sega Vol 1: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0002E7C96/ref=pd_bxgy_text_1/103-8476969-9636615?v=glance&s=toys
Sega Genesis Vol 2: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00066LG60/qid=1130263166/sr=2-1/ref=pd_bbs_b_2_1/103-8476969-9636615?m=A3UN6WX5RRO2AG&s=toys

Those are exactly the style I'm looking for.
Now last year around Christmas time they were offering one that did all the original NES games. A virtual cookie and a very real at-a-boy to anyone that can find that pig.

Now, now. Remember what those wise hooligans in Oasis once said "My soul slides away,But don't look back in anger, I heard you say"
I mean its not like I'm gonna start blaming Nintendo for making stay inside too much, not learning social skills early with women, wasting time..er..um..nevermind

It's not Nintendo's fault... without it I would have just wasted more time on other worthless pursuits. I have many fond memories of the wasted time.

I think you're out of luck Kermit - the only reference to it that I can find says that it was a somewhat illegal box?

"Somewhat illegal"? I can't find the thing, either. I saw a friend of a friend a while back with one of what Kermit's looking for. It was shaped like the N64 controller, though, but it had like 40 NES games or something ridiculous. I asked him where he got it and "the internet" was his reply. I do still have my NES that I'll let you buy for $4grabillion.
Here you go, I'm waiting for my cookie, please send it in time for lunch :)

I just may have to get one of those. I haven't heard of a lot of the games they list, but I would hope there are at least a few good ones out of the 75 the thing comes with. But surely games with names like Milk & Nuts, Binary & Land, Bird Week and Calculator can't be anything but fantastic.
