I just picked up Quake 4 at lunch. The reviews say great single player but only so-so multiplayer. Is anyone going to pick this up? Anyone interested in try the MP?

Well, so far Postal is making a good job of ignoring all references to his prolonged absense. Not even the blatant misspelling of his name can lure him out of his hide-out. :mad:

Its easier just to ingnor them. :)
I'm pissed at Quake 4 already. I freeze up right at the splash screen. I tried to un-install re-install and the un-install takes hours. I'll try again this weekend but if it doesn't get better then I am returning it.

Why does the uninstall take hours?
Also, I'm liking Q4 so far. It's pretty generic compared to a lot of recent shooters, but that's about what I expected because...you know...it's Quake. As 1up.com's reviewer put it, "She may be dumb, but she's pretty and fun."
I'll wait until I finish the whole singleplayer campaign before giving a recommendation, but what I've seen is pretty good if you're a Quake fan.

I finally got Quake 4 to work. I'm not sure what the hang up is but everything seems to take forever to load on my system. I have to wait about 3-5 minutes before the splash screen even goes away but at least it goes away.
So far it is an ok game. Nothing great to write home about but a good FPS.

Well I have to say the single player of Quake 4 is getting really good. Some or the cut sceens are starting to become rated R though. The one where they cut my legs off was pretty bad. Overall it looks like it is going to be a worth while single player game.

Yes, I know. And every time you say "I'm hooked". BF2's just the most recent reason you stopped playing CoH. I'd ask if you intended on picking up City of Villains, but I think it would just all end in heartbreak. :(
