I have a blog, like every other idiot on the Internet and since I just made my once-every-two-months update, I'm shamelessly plugging it now.

Enjoy!

My blog is mostly about how I hate both of you, anyway.

Okay, I hate to turn this into something almost useful, but here goes.
One of the reasons for updating my blog (the site, really) was to begin the process of moving my short fiction online. This is being done for a couple of reasons. It exposes the writing to a wider audience (even if it's only my cat) but more importantly, the act of going over the stories, organizng and editing them is meant to rekindle my moribund creative impulse.
I used to write a lot. I didn't finish everything, of course, and that's a problem I've dealt with from when I first picked up a crayon and scribbled something witty onto construction paper. But the sheer volume alone was impressive. I began and nearly finished my only novel at age 19. My output continued chugging along until the early 90's and then began to falter. Why, I can't say precisely. I tried mightily to get the muse working again but repeated efforts and experiments yielded little more than snippets of dialogue or ho-hum opening paragraphs to stories that would never get past page one.
Remember that story poll over on the QB forum where "The Sometimes Island" was chosen the "winner"? I tried to come up with a concept to go with the title, I wrote an intro but then...nothing. It just fizzled. Here's what I had come up with (you might consider this a minor spoiler except the story will likely never be written):
After mulling over a few possibilities, I settled on the title referring to an island in the middle of a lake that was often socked in with fog. The twist is that the island could only be seen through the fog by those who were about to die. It otherwise didn't actually exist. So seeing it was a Bad Thing.
Not too shabby for a premise but unfortunately, I simply couldn't build a story around it. My writing muscle has atrophied enough to make even the basics a chore.
So back to the blog. As I dust off already-written stories, I look for weaknesses and strengths in my writing and, more importantly, inspiration and validation, signs that "Hey, I'm not too bad at this sort of thing." As such, I'll continue to add all of my stories to my corner of the Interweb and invite anyone interested to read them and offer feedback.
fin!

I would leave comments, but it's apparently not sending me my password.
**edit: Actually, it did send it, but my spam filter caught it. The email it was sent from displayed as you@example.com

oops! :o
Fixed that. It will now say creolened@creolened.com, although such an e-mail does not in fact exist, sucka.
