Call this a plausable rumor, but The Digital Bits reposted a rumor that Walmart will be offering a PS3 deal Friday, starting at 8am: buy an 80GB PS3 and you get 10 free Blu-Ray movies regularly $30 or less free, plus you still get the 5 free by mail offer. The deal will only be in stores and will only last as long as the PS3's remain in stock Friday. Again, this is only a rumor and it is NOT showing up so far in any of the Black Friday Walmart ads I've seen.

This is for Saturday morning and not Black Friday.

Ah, Gray Saturday, the kind of busiest, sort of shopping day of the year, sometimes.

Yeah, because that's when the craziest shoppers that got up at 3am on Friday are all at home. Saturday is for the normal people who think they're beating the crowds by going then instead of Friday. They're adorable.

That's why Off-white Sunday is the day to go shopping!

No, I don't think there's a good time to go shopping from now until January.

Christmas day might not be too crowded.

I, along with my fellow members of NAAOWP are highly offended by your statement sir and demand an immediate retraction, apology and your banning.

I got the deal today and the movie selection was not as bad as I expected (Casino Royale, Oceans 13, 28 Weeks Later, Fantastic Four 2, etc..). Walmart does not sell Blu Ray movies so this was a special offer. I also got Motorstorm included with the system and I was not expecting that so I am happy I heard about this. :)

I got to Walmart at 7:20am this morning and had no trouble finding a qualifying PS3, but after looking at their movie selection, I passed. It wasn't that there weren't enough movies I wanted, just that 9 of the 10 I already had on regular DVD and I couldn't bring myself to part with $520 plus tax to do that, as I have no interest in the PS3 except as a Blu-ray player.

Well, I joined the Blu-ray club tonight. Samsung dropped the price of their entry level Blu-ray player to $299 this week, and Best Buy had a deal where you got 2 free movies from a list of about 9 or 10 at the time of purchase as well as the free 5 by mail. So, I picked up the player and Corpse Bride (Jen wanted a cartoon, and this was the only one on the list we both liked) and Blazing Saddles.

Walmart did another deal last Friday but this time for HD-DVD. I think it was $299 for the Toshiba player with 12 fre HD-DVD movies and the 5 mail-in offer still valid.
I am sure the deals will get even better down the road.

I love this movie and it looks great fully restored and in hi-def. So there!
Besides, I just ordered T2, Stargate, Total Recall, Pirates of the Caribbean 2 & 3, and (of course) the big, giant Blu-ray collectors set of Blade Runner, so that should make things better.

My copy of that Blade Runner's Collectors edition that you made me one click months ago shipped yesterday. Wooooohooo! :)
