I love that stuff. It's so good on steak. I think it's made from lime and orphans but they don't make it in England anymore. Bloody hell.
mmm, Parliament. Bring out the Funk!

I think when HP and Compaq merged the sauce suffered

HP makes Compaq sauce now that isn't nearly as terrible as it was when they first merged. They've really sorted things out with the ingredients.
Speaking of Parliament (again), anyone got plans tonight?
Remember, remember, the 5th of November.

As a kid I actually hated HP Sauce, but my dad loved it. I put ketchup on my steak. Yes, ketchup. As an adult I cultivated a taste for HP Sauce and enjoy its weird tart flavor on steak. Of course, I have steak about once every year now.
I still put ketchup on scrambled eggs, though.

Blasphemer! I couldn't do that. Nope.

I went to Morton's steak house on monday and had a prime porterhouse cooked rare. It was pretty good. Didn't use any sauce though, can't see why I would want to.

So is HP like an A1 or something?
Creole Ned

Well, not putting on sauce helps you to be a snooty sauce-avoiding elitist, obviously.
EDIT: HP Sauce is the UK equivalent of A1 Sauce, although as mentioned, HP uses lime and orphans whereas I think A1 uses old tires and tangerines.

they both use anchovies

So then your standard Worcestershire sauce is just orphans whereas and old tires without the citrus?

I hate Morton's. Bad service, overpriced steaks. I pefer Ruth's Chris. And ketchup on eggs is disgusting. I thought Ned was a civilized Canadian instead of a taste-impaired American.

It wouldn't be a discussion so much as gagging noises...

The place that served poutine near work closed. :(
Also, if I have a choice, the only thing I put on French fries is malt vinegar.

As our resident Canadian I was hoping you would defend the practice.

I've tried it, it's okay. I prefer the malt vinegar.

Malt Vinegar on fries is actually really good, assuming the fries are of good quality.

Poutine or mayo... either one is yummy! Malt vinegar too. Only thing I really don't want on my fries is mustard.

I dunno. Pretty much every condiment I've ever had with fries was good.

I think Andri and I discussed Mayo and Fries in another thread at some point.
Mayo + Fries = Yummy!

Trevor eats everything with mustard. We have gone through 2 warehouse packs so far this year and have had prolly another 6 individual bottles from the grocery store.

Sounds like that may be some sort of disorder.

Mustardostrophy, I think. Or Mustardalosis.
