I just got a bill for $20 for the next three months. If people are going to use it, I'll pay. But if things are winding down and/or we can use other servers, I'd like to stop paying this guy. He treated Fitty like a retarded man with Tourette's Syndrome.

I still use Vent when Circuit and I play CoH but I can host my own for that if need be. For bigger gaming sessions (Smackdowns, WoW revival, some other MMMMORPG), we'd probably still want a dedicated server, though. If you don't want to use this guy's particular service, that's your call, really. I don't see any of the behind-the-scenes stuff, just the server.
Also, the last few times I checked the NOVA server, all of its channels had been wiped. Dunno what's up with that.
I can host a server if need be... The Martians don't use up enough bandwidth (amazing given the level of hot air we generate) for it to make much of an impact at home...

What exactly did he do to Fitty?

What exactly did he do to Fitty?
If Fitty sees this, I'll let him explain it. Basically the guy went ballistic on him when Fitty asked a few unoffensive questions about the control panel tool the dude had on his website.

^^^ What Loggy said basically. The kid was a jerk and his Vent hosting was pathetic.
Brandon had the NOVA vent tied into our BF2 account so I suppose he had to reset the settings when I dumped the BF2 server. I have not been on lately so I was not aware this had occured until the other night. I will add the channel again with the same info this evening. Please use it as long as you want since I have 30 slots.

Log, I'll contribute by getting you boozed up in a little less than two months.
Fair?
And Fitty, and Tai, and...
It takes alot of booze to get me boozed up, but I look forward to your arrival!!! :)

I'm willing to put up just about any amount of money up to 40$ to have a vent server, I find it really useful. Let me know what you gotta do.

Have we made any decisions for the vent server yet?

Only 7 people have voted.

I can vote again!

I haven't voted cause I don't play anything that uses Vent anymore.
However, I think the best times I've ever had as a QB or Martian has been on a Vent server. If the guy was a dick to Fitty, I say we find someone new, and maybe take up a collection so Log's not paying for it all the time. However, I think it's been great having a Vent server up all the time.
It's like a Martian Cartel Party Line.

Since WoW is the only game I play and there is always stuff going on in our new guild, I am usually hanging out on their vent server. On the other hand, it was nice having Circuit, Ned and Medic use the same server as the WoW crowd because that made it possible to talk to them too. I guess I'd make it a habit again to stop by on loggy's vent if we decide to put it back up and people use it.

Log's Ventrilo server is running now. Circuit and I have been using it, haven't seen anyone else on.

We've been discussing scandalous things on there!

I'll just pay it. It's faster this way, and I'm certainly willing to support anything that fosters the discussion of scandal.

You big sweetie.
Re-evaluate when the next payment comes up, then. If it's not worth it, drop it like you'd drop some really heavy thing you'd been carrying for awhile.

I thought Ned was going to say "drop it like it's hot" to win some cool points with the kids.

Budly, I lend you my moral support. I don't get it either.
Because I feel bad for you out of touch folk, Snoop Dogg did a song last year named "Drop It Like It's Hot". It wasn't his best work, but the hook was catchy so it did pretty well.

I don't feel bad about not listening to Snoop Dogg. I mean, if Budly is an old man, then I'm sorta old too, and old people don't have to listen to (c)rap. I even wear a business suit once in a while and had fois gras as an appetizer the other night. But I might be able to recognize Snoop Dogg in a picture. Shouldn't that count towards being "in touch"?

Not calling him Snoopy Dog Dog counts.

Snoop Dogg is like the white man's rapper. He initially sold out when he appeared in the AOL commercial, but when he showed up in a Chrysler commercial with Lee Iococa, he officially became more white than Dick Cheney.
