View Full Version : Freebird
So I finally played Freebird at Stonehenge (on Medium). Very very cool

Hmm.
To me, this is what I get:
Freebird: an invention enhancement set in City of Heroes that boosts your fly speed
Stonehenge: ancient religious site in England
Medium: how I prefer my steaks cooked
But I'm glad you liked it, whatever it is!
You had it all correct except you left out the flying saucer at Stonehenge and Freebird is the most often requested encore song EVAR.
Freebird is a terrible song.
Also, Medium is way overcooked. Steak should be served as close to raw as possible while still being browned on the outsides and not cold in the middle (storing the steak in non-refrigerated settings is best for these purposes).
I have no problem with Stonehenge.

the problem with under cooked steak is the fucking texture. The idea of pink beef makes me want to hurl, and I prefer beef to sex.

also he means Guitar Hero 2, and Freebird is 14 minutes long and damn near impossible.
If the beef is pink, you burned it. Especially if it's good beef.

See, I even like my steak blue and cold in the center some times. Yum!

How does beef stay pink when burned?

I like my steak medium. As with what JR said, it's not the flavor of uncooked meat, it's the texture. However, if it's brown all the way through, it's dried out and overcooked. I like it to be cooked enough that the bleeding stops.
Also, red meat is not bad for you. Fuzzy green meat is bad for you.

I've had plenty of medium-well steaks that were fantastic. One of the reasons I don't eat steak with people much is because I hate going through the same conversation over and over about how a "real" steak is cooked. Just eat your fucking bloody meat and leave me alone!

I agree with that. I like my steak the way I like it and do not look down upon people who eat it differently than I.
However... people who like thier campfire marshmallows burned are freaks and should be punished.

Raw meat is an acquired taste. People are just raised with the raw = bad warning, and I think it's something you have to overcome slowly if that's what you're after.

I do agree that it's like you said for a lot of people. The raw = bad thing was pretty strong for me growing up. But why would you want to overcome a food preference? Like JR, it's a texture thing for me and I really have no desire to condition myself to enjoy rare steak when it's perfectly enjoyable the way I like it cooked currently. I have eaten good steak that had a little blood in the middle and enjoyed it, but I just don't prefer it that way.

Yea, most tastes are acquired when you're young. I had allergies as a kid, so I grew up not liking a lot of foods. Then I started watching the food network, and I was jealous of good everything looked, thus I grew determined to try as many new foods as I could. It took me 2 or 3 times to get used to Sushi, but now it's one of my number one favorite foods in the world.
Besides, pre-civilization we were all savages and ate the rended flesh of our enemies. Eating raw meat is in our blood.
I don't actually mock people or otherwise lecture them on how to eat steak (unless they want it extra well...those people should stop wasting good meat and just eat hockey pucks...same taste and texture, and much cheaper). I just figured this thread needed more drama.
Freebird still sucks, tho.
