The Smackdown titles keep getting worse and worse. Who knows how bad it will be by the time we get to #200!

This time we are trying another demo, Prey. The file is just under 450 MB and includes two DM maps plus the first level of the single player game. I *highly* recommend trying the DM maps out ahead of time because the upside-down stuff will leave you baffled and dead if you're seeing it for the first time with other people shooting at you.

You can grab the demo from the link above. If that doesn't work, navigate to it from the main Prey site (http://www.prey.com/flash.html) or grab it from the usual places.

A few li'l tips:

- Prey is a Doom 3 engine game but unlike Doom 3 has actual lighting. Still, you may want to turn off shadows and otherwise adjust the graphics for smoother multiplayer.
- the floating pouches add to your spirit. You can hit a key to enter spirit form. In spirit form you are separated from your body and are equipped with a bow and arrow. This weapon is quite deadly but likewise your body can be easily picked off while you're walking around going "Oooo, I'm a ghost!" There is one small area with weapon ammo that can only be accessed by entering spirit form. Spirit drains fairly quickly while you are in spirit form.
- health pickups are those weird discs on the floor with purple glowy stuff in them.
- most weapons have an alt-fire mode.
- the gun with three red cannisters can be charged at several stations to switch its ammo type. You charge it by aiming at the station and hitting alt-fire.
- the glowing tracks you see on the ceiling and walls can be walked on. Finally, a game where you really can dance on the ceiling! Note if you jump while on one of these tracks, you will flip down to the floor below.

I was going to ask if your real body was sitting still like a pumpkin when in spirit form, but thanks for answering that for me. :) Will you bring the server up a bit early so that we can get some practice in up front?
