Smackdown 182: Feeling Gravity's Pull
Date: Sunday, June 24th
Time: 6 p.m. PDT, 8 p.m. Central, 9 p.m. EDT
Game: Half-Life 2
Gametype: Deathmatch
Map: Steamlab
As we trundle closer toward Smackdown 200 (original UT on Morpheus, of course) it's time to take a detour from UT2004 and return to the fun of shooting toilets at fellow Martians in Half-Life 2 Deathmatch. The map will be announced in the next day or so (I am perusing user maps now).
Please update Steam well before game time. If you haven't run it in awhile, there has been a good chunk of updates to it and HL2. Hope to see youse there!
oh boy, I will try and remember how to do this.
I'll be home visiting my family this weekend, so I'm going to miss out. Have fun!

Sunday is my last day at work and I'm not sure how late I'll be. I'm hoping to be out of there well before the SD, but if not you know why.
I am not quite comprehending why you are still going in to work.

Because if I walk out, I can't collect unemployment. Plus, I have a lot of respect for my boss.
Is there any way to make steam use my second drive? It is trying to download everything to the C drive, and I do not have the 4 - 6 gigs free there....

You can copy your entire Valve folder (containing Steam and all apps) to any drive you like. It will work fine. I moved it from my C: drive to my G: drive (hooray for Windows' great letter assignment on hard drives!)
I cannot find a suitable user map so we'll be going with one of the base maps tonight. It's still important to update that Steam thinger, though.

Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - Storage - Disk Management
From there, you can change drive letter assignments however you want. You may need to do some registry editing to keep programs working if you change drive letters though. I think there are some utilities that will do that for you.

oh, I know how to change it, I was just kvetching at Windows' weirdness in assigning letters to drives. I find it amusing that I've got a G: drive when logically I shouldn't really have anything beyond F.
I know what you mean, all my USB ports show up as drives, so my speedy 10k drive is actually drive J:.
Go figure.

As always, HL2DM is a brutal and bloody affair. Congrats to Sam for the win!

Hrm, Sam has twice my score. But I did better than I expected, I'm in the same ball park as pogo, pal and Ned anyway :p

I did well in the warm-up so fell victim to that particular curse.
I was still trying to figure out how to change weapons in the warm up :)
