I know Circuit will be getting some rain once Rita makes landfall, as will I, but is there anyone else who is going to be in the path of the storm?
Luckily, I am some 300 miles inland (even though NOAA is saying it should still be a tropical storm when it hits lovely Texarkana, TX/AR) with predicted rainfall anywhere between 4-20 inches.
Circuit, how is Dallas looking this weekend?

They're saying probably several inches of rain, which is better than what the people on the coast will experience. The awesome part is that I have to do our quarterly inventory on Sunday, which will be loads of fun if the power goes out. I'm sure we'll also get hail and tornadoes and all that neat stuff.

Ouch! I hope you guys will all be well and safe. Since many of our clients have facilities along at the Gulf Coast, we have felt the aftermath of Katrina even up here. We heard a lot of stories about displaced employees and destroyed homes. Luckily, none of them reported lost lives. You can say what you want against big oil, but in times like these, being employed by an oil company is not a bad thing at all. They evacuated all their employees and families in time. With Rita approaching Texas, several of my colleagues had to interrupt their trips down there as our clients shut down offices and plants. One of my colleagues reported that it took him 2 hours to find a gas station that was not out of gas yet, and then it took him 6.5 hours to the airport (from downtown Houston to IAH). The city must be in complete chaos, and I bet other places are similar. What with 5+ million people suddenly on the roads??? I'll keep all my fingers crossed for all of you martians down south.
