A change of pace as we switch to a free-for-all game of Elimination. The map is user-made and is not part of the Community Bonus Packs, so you will have to download it. Don't let the filename confuse you, as it's part of a two map set (follow the link above for download mirrors).

The map is reasonably tight so I'm planning on using a warm-up round to determine if total lives should be 15 (the usual) or 20 per player.

You obviously didn't witness me during the Invasion last night, apparently I have something against those creeping and flying things getting right in my face and am perfectly willing to pull the rocket launcher trigger at that point.

I will most likely be in attendence to do my usually crappy job at Elimination. I was always better at the killing than the living.

It was fun! It was like being a fish in a barrel, shooting other fish who were shooting you, in a barrel.

That was one of the longer free-for-all SDs we've had, which is funny since there were concerns it would end too quickly.

After a fast 'n furious warm-up round, the real thing took 13 minutes before we got down to the two final opponents. At that point Sam had the eye of the tiger, not to mention a commanding 8-3 lead over Q in lives remaining.

Q, however, had a pointy stick and jabbed that eye until the tiger cried, winning with two lives left. Q now has a threepeat and must be stopped at all costs!

Total time for the SD was just over 26 minutes - a marathon, relatively speaking but not a record breaker.

It was a rather amazing come back. I figured Sam had him for sure. Good thing we don't put money on these.

I suck with the Flak Cannon, too. In fact, I haven't really found a weapon that I don't suck with. I have good luck with the plasma rifle, oddly enough, and of course the rocket launcher. But with a splash-damage heavy weapon like the flak cannon, I should be better.

Good game, Q. You really kicked my ass at the end.

is there some trick i'm not aware of to get the adreneline things to work? I can't seem to do it. i've tried the "up up up up" and the "down down down down" and the others probably wrongly, but up up up up is easy to remember. do i need to be superfast? hold some other key? use my arrow keys instead of w?

It's just a quick successive tapping on your movement keys. You have to have 100 adrenaline before you can activate a combo.

use the down down down down one. That is the booster. It feels like about a little under half a second between keypresses when I do it.

i wasn't trying after getting 100 adreneline. I read a post somewhere that lead me to beleive i could do it at any point and just wouldn't get as long of a booster / speed/ invisible/berserk.

I'm going to make it a point to pop more pills before trying it.
