WTB [Codex: Prayer of Shadow Protection]

Everyone has the II's and III's for sale, but I never see the first one :( Looks like it only drops from BRD and Onyxia and other places noone has any reason to run anymore. Bleh.

I don't suppose we have one lying around somewhere? Is it possible to learn II or III without having learned I first? I hope so :(

Maybe it isn't, but I'm pretty sure this should be trainable, somewhere. All the books and such that were dropped in high level instances were made trainable with 2.0, or should have been.

You do not need I to learn II. According to Thottbot, there is only I and II for levels 60 and 70, respectively.

I would also doublecheck your trainer and spellbook to make sure you don't already have it. Like Tick said, I'm fairly certain that all of the spellbooks for 60 and under were made trainable with the release of BC.

II requires level 70. Maybe I'm imagining that there's a III.

That is correct. There are only ranks I and II. II is new and can be learned at lvl 70. No clue though whether you need rank I to learn rank II. I hope not, cuz that would really suck. :(

I doubt it, you didn't need fort I to learn fort II. That said, yay, I have shadow prot I :)

I know that for some of my spells, you can't learn the higher rank without learning the lower rank. However, I think that's because you can only learn the lower rank with talent points. As for the books I'm not entirely sure. But I do remember hearing people say on raids that for each class all the books but 1 were available to be trained.

Looking at Thottbott, it seems to drop in Strat, Scholo, and Ony specifically. If you want to get a group together to run through the first two a few times, I'd be happy to help. Ony would be a bit harder to get a group together for, but I'm up for that.

You do not need I to learn II. It's been this way with all of the Codex books: Fortitude, Arcane Brilliance, Mark of the Wild, etc.

Buy it on the AH for a few gold like I did or I will buy it if I see it.

I do not need to use it that often so it is not a must have, imo.

If you can learn II without learning I I'd just skip I. Not worth the money. It's not like you are going to spam Prayer of Shadow prot in the middle of fights so that you'd have to worry about the mana cost. Might as well give your group the highest amount of shadow prot you've got even if it's just deadmines you are running.

Well it's definitely not something I can learn at the priest trainer. I double checked that first before I made this thread.

I guess I'm just gonna have to luck out and get a II on the AH.
