Since the season most closely associated with mint is upon us, I pose this question to you so we can crown the king of all mints. See how your mint stacks up to the others! At the end, only one flavor can win.

Will it be yours?

green mint. either dried on tomato and onion salad, or fresh in black tea with tons of sugar.

Okay, I chose Mint Chocolate (chip ice cream) because I could really go for some of that.

Mint chocolate, specifically After Eight Chocolate Mints. Mmm.

My sister gets me a box every Christmas, going on 20+ years now. It's a tradition and you can't fight tradition. At leats not when it involves mint chocolate.

Since it's not a mint, I didn't add it, but over any candy, I'd pick caramel with Tootsie a close second.

mint chocolate is peppermint

wintergreen isn't a real mint

The common types of mint are peppermint, pennyroyal, crinkle-leafed spearmint, spearmint, and applemint.
Never eat pennyroyal, as it is toxic.

Just one more wafer thin mint?

I generally despise mint, but it is quite good in Mojitos.

Nice Copy/Paste (http://www.gardenguides.com/herbs/mint.htm), you nub. You couldn't even be bothered to fix their double posting of spearmint. Motion to upset the coronation: DENIED.

Thank goodness you put Cinnamon on there. The only candies I really like are Cinnamon or anything Reese with peanutbutter.

Mmmmmmm Reese's Cinnibutter cups....

it isn't a double post jerksauce, crinkle leaf spearmint is different than regular spearmint.

Seconded! After Eight's are a holiday tradition with my family as well. While not as good, Andes Candies also follow the holiday mint chocolate tradition.

I've heard wonderful things about the new Bailey's Mint Chocolate Irish Cream, but I have yet to try it.

I like the big $44 bottle of Bailey's. There's enough in there for my morning coffee for a whole week!

Caterpillars can usually be handpicked. They are repelled by wormwood spray or insect spray.

Tai, this disturbs me. The only thing that goes in coffee in the morning is perhaps a little milk, and maybe sweetener if you need it, and more coffee. Why would you dilute the coffee goodness so much?!

Bailey's is for desert, silly.

Shadowrat

He's not diluting the coffee, he's stretching the irish cream. Everyone knows that too much baily's over a short period will clog your arteries, yet a healthy dose is too little to have any beneficial effects from the alchohol. Solution: put it in a warm drink. The heat causes your blood to absorb more alchohol than normal just maximizing the intoxicating effects of the booze while limiting the artery clogging effects of the cream.

And also there's coffee.

i generally truly dislike mint (although i definitely agree with the Mojito comment)..

but I was hooked on Wintergreen Lifesavers and Wintergreen Altoids for awhile.. those are great... but it's not really mint, is it?

The word "mint" sounds very strange to me after reading this thread. Mint.

ah-ha i was wondering who else voted for licorice. I love it. it's one of thoose things that is mostly available in its imitation form, like marshmellow and maple syrup. Consequently no one likes theese things because they only have the crappy artificial versions.

I've had real black licorice before and while it was better than things like those black jellybeans (which I think are actually evil in candy form), it still tasted strange. Granted, the last time I had real licorice was when I was very young and probably expected it to taste much differently.

candy should not be black

i know it sounds racist

but i'm not a fan of eating something that is marked with the color of death and decay

but i really like pepper, so i guess i don't mind a sprinkling of death on my food

Shadowrat

I admit that i love "old tire" candy; pastel licorice things that are impossible to chew much like shreds of tire rubber.
